As Jio Gigafiber doesn't allow port-forwarding, Is there any way to connect your cp-plus/ any other brand DVR/NVR to the gigafiber router ?
Is it necessary to port forward or it can work without that ?
From what i have gathered via google, PORTS only need to be forwarded due to special app needs and/or security reasons (hacking,etc.)..
that means the setup would work but on default port. The only security measure that we can take is to can just change the default passwords to strong ones..
@Nitin Is it a mandatory requirement for cctv setup ? CCTV noob here.
Any drawbacks of not using a static ip and not a specialized forwarded port number in place of the usual 80/8000 etc. ????
@Nitin
Is not it an absurd idea to get static IP if you need to pay for it when almost all traffic can be re-routed via another ports and a remote VM can receive incoming connection where Google and Amazon provide great service for almost negligible costs?
Please try not to get a static IP unless it is an absolute necessity.
It will ultimately lead to use of CG-NAT if (by any chance),the ISP,specifically new and smaller ones,are left with lesser IPV4 address as compared to their user base.
Oh,do not tell me that they can use IPV6,they won't....And their reasons are pretty good enough as it saves them lots of investment to use CG-NAT as it always come with DPI ports inbuilt which helps them to become complaint to various stupid laws in our country.
