BSNL's new DNS Servers: 61.0.1.1, 61.0.2.2, 61.0.3.3, 61.1.1.1

Yeah, it would automatically route you to the closest resolver. You wouldn't be able to get 1-2ms latency if the resolver is far away, so they probably have a node in each major city perhaps (Bangalore, Ernakulam, Pune etc)

What do you mean by DNS intercepted? Yes, BSNL does inject ads on non-HTTPS website visits.

These ads usually take you to malware/phishing websites which BSNL is clueless or incompetent to know about.

I changed my dns settings to auto and i am always getting dns resolvers in 218.248 series. In fact if i change it to the manual dns and set 8.8.8.8 and 8.8..4.4 then also my primary and secondary addresses will be in 218 series, the dns address should be of google right i ,are they forcing me to using their own . Can anybody help me?

@vishalrao @varkey is there anything that we can do as a collective to stop Ad injection? Any letter or Email will work?

I guess each one of us can send emails to CMD email address and also file complaints on PGPortal but they may not listen - at most they may put each person individually on DND list to stop the ad injection like some other people on this forum have got done.

Yup, one seems to be in kochi. I'm getting about 10 ping from here in tvm, for both the 61. and 218.248.112.116 ip

Is it important? As all our devices will take dns from dhcp.

Adsl broadband customer can also enjoy the peering or it is only for ftth
I think it should work.
