Torrenting Problem on Spectra

@potlu213 try seedbox it's dirt cheap to try practically free if 4gb is okay for you but I think it won't be
And u can get an 8gb space (unlike the normal 4gb)

well guess what, spectranet is definitely the worst ISP in this country right now!

i used a seedbox for trial purposes and then tried to download that file to my PC via a FTP client (Filezilla). To my shock, i was downloading the file at only 15-20 kbps speeds. i changed ISP to hathway to test & guess what - full speed of the connection.

these MFers are even throttling FTP speeds! its not just limited to torrents. how can they do this and get away with it?

guys, never take a connection from spectra shit.
 
tbh no idea. all seedboxes do tend to showcase support for both https and ftp 🤔

haven't used one personally. which one are you testing? free account has https download support?
 
ok i m confused now - i just added the files back & i just did a right click -> process queue - & now suddenly its downloading at awesome speeds which my connection has!

its from .seedboxws.com. i think i ll tinker around some more with it but this seems to work and its very cheap too. not a bad option at all if it works on this crappy ISP.
 
stop complaining about the crappy isp and focus on getting the most out of what you are stuck with. there are enough workarounds for anything spectra throws at you. since you are stuck with it, just focus on getting the most bang for your buck... 😬
 
what if torrent trackers are on http? 😀

in any case, it should help in case spectra starts targeting seedbox domains used for https downloads?

This should be on top of every forum or in a welcome message to new users. No ISP is perfect. Getting the best out of any ISP is what we all should strive for. A common aim of the forum will help to reduce a lot of negativity when someone has a bad day. 😌
 
ranting helps man. i used to rant all the time. i moved that bit to social media few years ago. 😁 now i am bored and tired. things are not going to magically fix. big state is here and all we can do is look for ways around to get the job done!

i learnt a lot of things dealing with the shit these companies have been throwing around. would have never considered or bothered to get a VPN or switch to encrypted dns. now it is basically part of online life. i suggest more and more people to make their online communication secure and encrypted so that isps cannot play around with it.
