It's Bsnl's junction box for landline connection and also broadband

It shall be based on competition, If there are more players, they will lay cable and kick start the services swiftly, If there is no competition they will take their own time frame to finish the work and launch the services, The Nash equilibrium strategy

Only bsnl ftth is active here. Rest are local isps with airtel as their backbone. Jio has started laying fiber months ago but they didn't install any DP box. Jio fiber was not underground.
Demand is high here 9 out of 10 houses has wifi installed here before lockdown but average speed here is 10mbps. When ask for a connection of 50mbps they act like it's such a big deal.

I had a word with the same person today. He said airtel is first doing some internal work and then they will start laying. What kind of internal work they may be talking about?
Maybe bringing the xstream service from their head office or different city.

Karan bhai, don’t be so impatient about Airtel fibre service. The service is not fault proof. I am using in Bangalore when it was launched in 2017 in my area. Initially all was good and spartan but as few houses in cluster took connection , the lineman maintaining it threw the hat and now situation is wires dangling out of DP Box on poles. Fibre line needs certain signal frequency attenuation like -21mhz to -27 but my line is having -30 now. Initially it was very good -25. Since my plan is 40mbps hence no issue but the moment I opt for 200 or 1GBPS plan then I will not get the same speeds due to poor signal quality . This is because of poor upkeep of lines at DP box . All house wires are dangling out of DP box and during rain water goes into the box . Every 3 months or 6 months rat comes and bite by line at pole and I have to call lineman for repair. They should have provided single DP chamber at each houses to avoid chaos and rat bites but they choose to save cost by this. In London and us fibre lines are laid under utilities tunnel to home which houses gas, water and internet fibre and when user opt for connection that line is plugged to extender inside home to modem. Same thing is followed in Indian appartnents

Bro I am being impatient due to poor routing by local isps here. I am fed up of high pings and false commitments to complete the month by local ISPs here. I was using airtel in other city the experience was really good at that time I became a fan of airtel broadband. The problem faced by you is due to the local lineman.

I have faced the same before bro with reliance wireline internet when 4mbps was such a big deal. The local lineman used to charge extra 2000-3000 bucks to install a connection otherwise he just forward the reliance team that the house of the subscriber is beyond the DP reach. Everyone has to bribe him 500 every 6 months coz he used to disconnect everyone connection from the DP box.

Yea bro I know I am being impatient. 👻
