I am told by a person that airtel xstream fiber will be available from 1st of next month in my city and the website says the same but I can't any work going in my area or around the city. There is work being done by IGL for laying underground gas lines to each and every house. I can only see yellow pipes coming out of the roads.

The person said he has got the contract of laying fiber and proving connections on behalf of airtel. I can't see any DP box around as well. Could he be wrong?
The site says 18 days to go. But there are no DPs around.

They are done in night and quite efficiently, when jio was laying down their cable here, they used to start post 12 AM and by 5 AM ,they were done, it was hard to know if something happened there unless you were looking for it.

maybe municipality corps got strict?

Do they install DP box straight away? Or as per demand?
Municipality might not have any issue as IGL is laying gas pipes as well.

Dp box are installed after every 3-5 house only then the street is called fiber ready and sales can take booking.
When you book a connection then fiber from dp box to your house is done. So dp box is must.

Fiber can be laid in a day in a street, u may better check the nearby street where they have laid cables and DB Boxes for confirmation. In our area, they have launched airtel Ftth in 15 days and laid cables in more than 30 streets in less than 2 weeks

I checked the other streets and unable to see any DB boxes yet. The person said you can get a connection after 1st of June. If what u say ftth can be laid in a day is true then he might install fiber and DP box in upcoming days.

It is easy, One guy drills the road with a hand machine, one guy cleans the sand on it, 2 guys rolls cables inside color pvc, other two install DP Box to the compound wall or use a small pole if the owner of the house objects it. this all can be done in a day within evening that is what happened in my street, one DB box is installed on my compound wall with my permission

If that happens with you then it might be true. I hope they do the same here. But there might be some origin point from where fiber is coming. An origin from where they might be getting a connection?

Btw copper cables got installed in my area in 2015 but airtel decided not to roll out broadband service for residential plans only one can avail business leased line.

The big box is the junction box where the cables from the local hub connected, from there they install cables to every street with db box, this all was done in 2 weeks, they have this kind of one junction box for every 3 to 4 streets depends the no of connections

This is exactly the setup in my area in Bangalore and they took around 1 month to complete including laying underground fiber using trenching machines. But in area all the distribution boxes are in poles, none attached to building compounds
