@PranjalT I have had mine upto -30dBm. Still worked fine. I told my LCO about it and it took a little time to fix. Practically it should work fine at that level but you should inform the LCO. BTW I'm from Guwahati too.

My LCO is a huge pain in the ass. It took me about 17days to get the connection installed. My account was activated 11days before the physical connection was completed. I highly doubt they would fix it as they don't have dedicated fiber techs(they hire the BSNL tech on daily basis). Anyway, how much Rx level are you getting now? And what's the latency/ping response? Please share your speedtest snapshot if possible. 🙂

I got my connection just before the first lockdown. Took some time because they didn't lay fiber in my area before. A week more after setting up fiber to get my ONU setup. Rx is about -24dBm. Was around -22dBm some days ago. Seems like degrading again. Hahaha. Pings are around 50-60 ms for google and cloudflare DNS. Speedtest results with two different local servers.

If you need lower latency for DNS use 61.1.1.1 which is default anyway and will be at least 20 ms. Other lower latency DNS addresses are 218.248.112.225 and 218.248.112.229 at least 10 ms. I don't play mobile games but tested PUBG a few days ago and pings were under 40-50 ms. Did a total 19 speed tests now, lowest was 52 ms with Airtel broadband, Chennai, highest was 96 ms with Asianet broadband, Thiruvananthapuram.

Used to get 59.92.x.x address and 117.211.x.x address. Since June 2nd 117.194.x.x only. Things have definitely changed. Improvement, may be.
