How's Samsung M21 with its 6000 mAh battery?! I'm tempted to get this if not Nokia 6.3

Any issues/complaints for Samsung OS/customisations of Android, like any ads or play store limitations or annoyances?

I'm mostly interested in stock android or annoyance-free android experience.

I don't do gaming and not much media consumption, just whatsapp/email mostly.

Should work well on your usage! OneUI is very well made. And apps ask you to opt in for marketing messages. Out of the box it's pretty neat.

My mother uses an M30, and there is too much bloat and excess UI customisation by Samsung. If you are looking for a pure android experience, it may not suit you. And the UI on M30 is really slow, I've scheduled a daily restart to work around it. (most phones have a scheduled power on and off, but Samsung has a scheduled restart option too 😅😅)

Just my opinion though. 😅

It's not the ui that's slowing doing but their low end processors are slowing down they use their lower end Exynos 7904 which doesn't have enough computing speed to handle the daily tasks. Of course these custom skins ,one ui miui are all heavy since it has customizations, other wise go with stock android in Nokia which will be lighter but has limited functionality..

right. i guess i am pretty impressed with oneui is because i have the 855 processor. i mean it's smooth but i can see some hesitation here and there so i assume it would not be as good on less powerful processor. i did play around with A series phones at the local store and they seemed file. m series are lower speced than a series so seems logical that there would be struggle.

@philip Yep, that's definitely a factor, however, once it runs for a day or so, it becomes more sluggish. My mother who is not at all a heavy user was complaining of slowness a few days after getting the M30. (She was using a Redmi 4 earlier and found that faster 😉) Although after I setup scheduled daily restarts, she hasn't complained.

@vishalrao I think both phones are good eough for ur use case , with m21 u may feel some hiccups.during multitasking if u do mainly due to processing speeds .one ui is good ,it does not have many ads. Most of the apps can be uninstalled . Battery backup and amoled screen are the other plus points with samsung.with Nokia u will get a little more superior processor and the ui experience will be much more smoother due to stock android as compared to one ui. But it will lack many of the good functionality one ui have. If u want a good camera then Nokia is best these m series phones have pathetic cameras . Battery backup is another bummer u may feel with nokia

on the other hand if you are just going to use it for whatsapp and email. you can use the phone in ultra battery saving mode 24x7 and get 5-6 days of battery. 😝 maybe even more with 6000mah.

simpler ui. select apps still work fine. i would consider using it if at least telegram had support. mi killed their lite mode. honor i believe still has it. samsung should have offered the simple ui mode as an option. instead of making it exclusively as super battery saver mode which only support limited apps.

oh. they do have an easy mode that probably can be used here. since vishal has simple requirement from this phone. hard to say if it is easier on the processor. but it's definitely something that could work for dad whenever i have to buy a new phone for him. i guess it reduces the resolution from 1080p to 720p.

Damn, now reading about @varkey 's mom's experience with m30 I am now doubting the m21 but it has the latest 9611 Exynos cpu.

I think what I might do is get the m21 anyway to try it out for few weeks, if it sucks I can always sell it then get the Nokia 6.3 which is not yet launched anyway. Not much harm done! Cost of the m21 is around 12-13k it seems, very reasonable.
