Airtel Fiber
I've BSNL FTTH 100 Mbps plan, looking for a ONT so that I can return the one given by the BSNL.

My current Device: Huawei HG850a

Looking for a ONT which I can bridge to my router running OpenWRT, so I don't need any fancy stuffs. A gigabit port and a reliable brand is enough for me.

Please provide the links to buy, affiliate links are welcome.

May I know the reason for Mac Address Spoofing. Are you in Cyber Security?
It eliminates your begging with ISP specially BSNL to update your ONT Mac address in their database which some ISP do not do very easily . It is a basic requirement in some of the connections . You do not need Cybersecurity to do that 🙄

It all depends on requirement. If you are going to use the ONT as just a dumb ONT (No Wifi or Routing) and use a separate router for rest of things then , anything among the above should work just fine . It all depends on how u wish to use it

Huawei and Nokia modems are usually good interms of user experience like UI , etc . The Syrotech and the Netlink ones also are fine . except advanced options like FTP server , NAT etc have problems sometimes

TP-Link covers a overall package of router and ONT if it is compatible with your ISP

My LCO has Syrotech ONT installed at his office. He said Mediaconnector will not work and i need to purchase a ONU device which will connect with my Router.
I have seen some reviews where Syrotech device heats up. Which is the best ONU device as of now in terms of performance and after sales warranty support?

As I am seeing your ISP is Tripleplay , I do not know much about them . Huawei modems are the best I would say . You should ask if they support Huawei ONT

Can someone help me in the following..
I bought one Syrotech modem (SY-GOPON-1000-2WONU), but my operator says it won’t work, because it is EPON. An it work after upgrading the firmware, or do I have to buy the new one? Please help.
