This is stupidity to the highest. For adding non-subscription product like Amazon prime, they took this much of time. Very bad

Can't sideload apps any more AFAIK, so anyone have any reliable info about when Netflix will finally show up? They seem to be mighty busy filling up the home screen with all sorts of absolutely trash unwanted non-removable apps while major in-demand ones are still missing. Bloody incompetent morons.

@Dave - We did receive Prime recently so maybe Netflix in a matter of time. I would love too see support for good media player apps like Kodi, VLC, MX Player.

@bigman91: If we go by the delay taken for Prime to arrive relative to the original ETA, we'll probably not see Netflix before mid June to early July.

Yep, good media player apps are a necessity given that the inbuilt one is utter crap and can't even display subtitles. But I guess it'll deliberately never happen since Jio naturally wants people to subscribe to and stream stuff rather than download and watch by plugging a USB drive in. That's why I hope someone figures out a way to sideload again soon.

I just had a word with a sales person who has a contact at RIL IT park who claims that moves from management are slow but we should expect to see Jio Live TV channels that don’t affect the data in your plan soon, which is to apparently take on DTH. I asked him about OTT app bundling for prime/Netflix and he told me that there was no mention of it yet.

He was talking about media player apps @Shubham, like MXPlayer on Android (which IMO has become terrible ever since Times Internet bought it). Yes, an MXPlayer app is there on the Jio STB, but it's just for Times' webseries. Any English films in there seem to be only bad prints they've got from the net of old public-domain out-of-copyright stuff, i.e. what the cheapskates got for free without paying a dime.
