Hi! I want to buy a smartphone for my mother. The one she's using right now is Mi Note 4 (for more than 2 years now). She doesn't have any issues with it as such, but recently she has realized the importance of 'camera', because of Zoom meetings and video calls. Mi has screwed up the operating system over time, so I would really avoid buying an Mi phone. Usage is quite limited to games such as Angry Birds and YouTube.

It's a good device, both fusion and fusion+. The later is more future proof, or atleast, those were differences I observed (mentioned in above post). I would have suggested Nokia too, but given the number of problems associated with most of their device lineup's, it would be better to stay away from them.

Idk, my experience with Asus is a bit dicey. Their first battery will bulge within a year, I think Sanke or socrates here will confirm this. Another thing is their updates tend to give more problems with time. I didn't upgrade my phone from Lollipop to marshmallow due to large bugs making my phone practically non functioning. But that's my experience. You can head over to Asus forum to get a hang issues plaguing the device.

@Lamborghini I can confirm that of the 3 Asus Max Pro M1 & 1 Asus Max Pro M2 in my house. The Max Pro M2 got grotesquely distorted by the battery bulge in 13 months (Due to faulty update), so it cant go out in an exchange offer. Family member is still waiting for the service center to open in its new location in Dadar. After contacting them via twitter & 'Contact the CEO' option on their website we were contaced by the customer care guys v senior people but it was a waste of time. Another 2 Max Pro M1 got a slight battery (Went faulty in 13 & 15 months respectively) bulge so we could get rid of it in an exchange offer for Samsung Galaxy M31's ( about my experience with a M31, I am posting below). @krish_88 has got a Max Pro M2 stuck in Boot Loop. For which there are reports of it being replaced free. He should update us with his experience.

After reading so much about the 'Monster Battery' of the Samsung Galaxy M31, after using it for a month I am v disappointed. Everything is nice except the battery life between charges. For a 6000 mah battery it goes down to 53% in 13 hrs of light WhatsApp & browsing. This is even worse than my previous phone after using for 19 months & which had a 5000 mah. When I took it out of the box it had only 57% battery life in it & the charger was full of dust. I don't play games on my phone & still this issue. Will try a factory reset & update here again. Looks like I may have landed a bad piece.

Guys please be careful of the Motorola phone with a pop up selfie camera. It could end up being a maintenance nightmare & result in a BIG hole in your pocket while trying to repair it. And their service is crap. I have used their phones like the Moto G & Moto X Play which were good at that time & never faced a problem so I was lucky of not having to trudge to the service center. But my friends were not so lucky & curse v bitterly of their experience ( I used to go with them to the service centers)

Just FYI, using dual SIM both on Volte and 4g/4g+ will cause battery drain. If yours is Amoled screen, go for dark mode. I hope resetting solves your battery issue. Else service centre.

@Samuel Is 'Adaptive power saving' on by default? In my case 'Adaptive power saving' is off. When I put it on it went into 'Medium power saving' so I put it back to 'Optimised'. Have you done the security patch update (July). Its 569.44MM. I faintly remember that this option was on on my phone & I never touched it, was wondering if the latest update switched it off. I have turned it on again let me see if it goes into 'Medium power saving'.

On my mother's phone both the sims are on 4G + VOLTE all the time.
@socrates I think I enabled this setting. Network coverage in your area will play an important role too. Try to take a screenshot of the screen on time if you can. If my mother charges her phone till around 90% in the morning around 8 AM, by the end of the day around 8-9 PM, it is at 48-50%. The usage involves YouTube, WhatsApp, games like Candy Crush etc. I couldn't find the SOT otherwise would share a screenshot.

My Jio signal is v strong. Thats was my first suspicion & checked with others in my house & neighbors & found that there was no deviation in signal strength. Its still in 'Optimised' mode even after a restart lets see what improvement I get. I also removed 'DailyHunt' app as I found it to be a BIG hog for data as it shows all pics.
