Hi! I want to buy a smartphone for my mother. The one she's using right now is Mi Note 4 (for more than 2 years now). She doesn't have any issues with it as such, but recently she has realized the importance of 'camera', because of Zoom meetings and video calls. Mi has screwed up the operating system over time, so I would really avoid buying an Mi phone. Usage is quite limited to games such as Angry Birds and YouTube.

Samsung Galaxy M31

cannot really comment on the quality of front camera on phones in this range. even samsung s10 lite which cost more than double has a shit front camera.

Samsung Galaxy M30s as a cheaper alternative. have pinged nishant who is my go-to guy for such queries.

S9 at last sale for 18.5k was best bet if camera is priority. Better wait . It can come again. Samsung still got inventory left i think.

I think most of the reviewers have mentioned that a full charge takes around 2.5-3 hours, and it lasts for about a day and a half for a heavy user.

Does it take longer for you?

comes with 15w charger from the looks of it. assuming it supports a 30w charger, that might help. i actually charge my s10L at slower speeds with a third party charger when i am not in a hurry. phone gets quite warm with official charger with fast charging enabled.

in any case, make sure that the phone supports fast charging (QC or PD or whatever) and has vowif support on your operator.

I read in some review it uses front cam continuously as ambient light sensor is missing. So switch off the auto brightness to get better battery.

Also it got very weak wifi sensor. Even lying next room to router just 1-2 bars.
