Hi! I want to buy a smartphone for my mother. The one she's using right now is Mi Note 4 (for more than 2 years now). She doesn't have any issues with it as such, but recently she has realized the importance of 'camera', because of Zoom meetings and video calls. Mi has screwed up the operating system over time, so I would really avoid buying an Mi phone. Usage is quite limited to games such as Angry Birds and YouTube.

How u gonna buy it locdown but.. I need to buy phone too..

Btw Asus 6z is good under 20k

Dekhna tou padega na pehle se. I have a list of 3-5 gadgets that I need to buy.

While I agree a avoiding a 'make in china' good is almost inevitable in the current scenario, one must always consider if an alternate option is available. Our red neighbour is actively supporting our green neighbours terrorist activities, and arming them with nuclear / missile technology. They are blocking access to their own markets for our pharma, it industries etc and at the same time trying to flood in their goods. They block our international ventures in every forum like security council, nuclear suppliers group etc. Their records of 'belt and road' development is essentially a debt trap in every single case from srilanka to bangladesh to myanmar and maldives. They have arbitrarily claimed the entire south china sea, kept a million+ ethnic uyghurs in concentration camps. The entire liberal intelligentsia like OIC😜 will never talk about this.Hell, even their entire country is kept behind a 'great firewall of china'. Does anyone actually believe that china has only 4k coronavirus dead? This is not a propaganda of convenience, but a fact.

Apart from miui, they need to improve thermal parameters in their phones all most all Xiaomi phones heats up while charging. In most of the YouTube videos poco X2 heats up while charging, touching 45°c .Between heat and fast charging are enemies for battery life.

I don't know much about realme but they are using OnePlus tech so these thermal stuffs would be well optimised.

I hate Xiaomi's ads, default apps and the horrible skin. I forgot they have devices running Android One, so will check out A3 for sure.

I would really want to know why @Nishant suggested against A3 though, and as @igloo and you guys are reporting that M30s take long to charge, will have to think it through. The usage is very limited otherwise I would definitely think about OnePlus or any other device for her.

I had the A2 and it was a horrible phone. The OS was super buggy and updates were making it worse. Got rid of it within 6 months. Xiaomi is well known to screw up updates of their Android One devices.

I currently have the Redmi Note 8 Pro. It got the Android 10 update recently which has screwed up the RAM management. So unless I open Whatsapp or Telegram the messages don't arrive. My P3XL with 4GB RAM does a better job here than RN8Pro with 6GB.

I had recommended Samsung M30S and M31 to quite a few people who have bought it and they seem happy i.e. haven't heard any complaints so far. They are just casual users though.

That's the way of Xiaomi they are following a life cycle pattern of 6 months. They will screw up with buggy software updates. It will be good to use at the beginning and after each update it becomes shit and after 6 months another phone will get launched. They are doing it purposely so that it degrades as quickly as possible to make us buy another.
