Airtel Black (Airtel Home/One Airtel)

@Navjot Singh so according to you.. they don't use the fiber they already have for the mobile towers?

like they must have even laid the fiber to provide the VDSL connection till the exchange (area's small room they have where they have server)?

Are you suggesting the below mentioned setup? or do you think they are deploying the fiber by extending the fiber they already have for the mobile and vdsl...

since on this forum, few people believe that vdsl runs on fiber backend only...from the local room they run copper wires.

this box is 50 meters from my house for instance.

i am in no position to answer. i meet airtel guys in my local market regularly and none of them have any clue if and when fiber is coming to homes.

I checked your whole thread.

1. i don't have any airtel ofc written cement poles or gutter holes in my area..

2. i am pretty sure when they upgraded our area to vdsl, they did not dug anything around or near the airtel blue boxes (through which they provide the connections in the area). So basically from the LOCAL ROOM --> Blue Boxes.. It has to be copper wiring in my area.

In your images, can you confirm if the wires they have installed below the BLUE BOXES are fiber or are they copper?

again i have no idea. the guys installing these did say that they were laying down fiber. even jio has fiber throughout my sector but they are not providing ftth connections. the fiber is basically passing through my sector while connections are being provided in the commercial area besides my locality.

i tell you something I know...

in my area jio didn't lay any wiring. they did dig up the holes and to my knowledge they were the old reliance communication ofc which they dig up and then deployed the JioFiber on the poles connecting the end to those ofc.

So basically, Reliance Comm. had OFC in our area for years... but were inactive.

JioFiber team comes, dig those fiber out (to take out the end of the wire).... connected their over-the-pole wiring to that....

provided connection to houses using over-the-pole way.

it's possible jio did the same thing. because i just noticed their manhole cover one day randomly. and then realized that it was all around my sector. airtel on the other hand took weeks to lay down their own fiber when they installed these bigger boxes around my sector. earlier they had the smaller boxes which were used for adsl connections.

I have but it's only used when excitel is down. I mostly keep it for backup and landline. I would have to disconnect excitel to get on airtel. What do you want me to check? Airtel vdsl link remains down routinely so I don't like using it much.

oh. okay whenever you can.. just post your ping to act fiber server from airtel broadband.. improvement in ping can show various conclusions.
