I want to change my plan to 1277 (100mbps+750gb) and was wondering how to do it and if it will be changed?

My connection is through the LCO and I have registered on self care portal too.

Should I -
1) Change on self care portal on 1st april
2) Ask LCO to change it?

More importantly will the change get affected? Has anyone tried during the last week?

You can change your plan on self-care portal.
You'll be charged on pro-rata basis. So you don't have to wait till April 1.

Also, please tell us if you were charged with another one-month advance payment during the plan change. Of course it may take another 10 days for the bill to generate.

Mmm. I didn't know this. A few months ago, I updated the plan via self-care portal. It was done within 30 minutes. Probably, the exchange staff was very quick to do it manually.

Whenever I've changed plans, they've only charged me the difference from current security deposit and new plan's monthly rental.

Also my first plan was the 777 plan but was charged only Rs 500 as deposit, that's why Rs 249 was charged as the difference when I moved to Superstar 300.

That'd be fine for me too. But, I downgraded the plan from 777 to 749 and yet I was charged 749 as advance.

Perhaps it was a billing error? Maybe registering a complaint might help.

Also, the self care portal never really worked for me in Kerala for plan changes. I had to complain on Twitter and I think I sent a request letter by post for them to finally make the change.

I find sending a request by post more convenient than me personally visiting the CSC 😅
