Thinking of getting Railwire. Please share your experience.

Hi all,

I have BSNL FTTH that works great when it works! When the whole BSNL network is messed-up, no one is there to help. I use 4G as a backup for now.

I came to know that Railwire is available in my village. I wanted to use it only as a backup internet, as it seems to be bit costlier than BSNL FTTH. I noticed someone just left Railwire.

I wonder how is their uptime, pocket loss, upload speed (symmetrical or asymmetrical), and overall quality?

I have already reviewed railwire in another thread.
RAILWIRE has good core network but service entirely depends on the LCO.
I wouldn't recommend railwire to gamers as they have too many blacklisted ip range in thier netblocks.
I have railwire connection at my village which is 40 kms outside of Chennai. Speeds are good and no downtimes. Only downside is that railwire is expensive than other isps but it's cheaper than BSNL atleast considering the QoS.
You can contact the NOC directly if you have any problems with your connection.
I even host a Ripe Atlas probe on this connection, please let me know if you need further details.

Yes, some of their ips are in some blocklists. We had to get our allocated ips 2 times.

I had railwire few years ago. Then I was even able to access lco's router lol. But overall it's not the best not the worst. But still it depends on lco

I forgot the other thread.

No problem with blacklisted IPs. This LCO is different than the other LCO who provides BSNL FTTH. However, I can make him to provide connection and proper support for last mile connectivity if he doesn't budge for some reason as it is only a village.

@pothi I forgot to mention that railwire has CGNAT.
but you get dynamic public ip every time you establish connection.
