@MadAxe here is the detailed review :

Location South West Delhi
Xstream fiber was available as I have seen there ads hanged on various poles in my lane.

As I mentioned I was using ACT - only issue with ACT was no connectivity during power trip situation however in my area there is hardly any but due to wrk frm home situation cant afford any and in summer it happened quite a few times.Hence decided to move but no bad experience with ACT.

Now Airtel Fiber - applied online during lockdown only within 10 mins received a call verifying that I have applied and caller confirmed the location then within 40 mins received two calls asking for details like what plan I am interested and taken details.

Now after another 15 mins two people were calling me waiting outside my apartment to do the formalities and I felt sorry for one to turn down during these hard times.

Done the payment online and next day around afternoon lineman came to do the wiring - unlike ACT this guys done it properly. Around evening another guy with router came and activated the connection.

I am on 200Mbps plan and its been two months till now no issue I have encountered with regards to connectivity or speed. I am happy with the speed on VPN(mandatory for offc laptop) as well.

Router installed is Huawei HRG8145 but I am using it as bridge as having own TP-Link MU MIMO router.

Payment in advance done for 3 months hence no installation or router charges paid by me.
Do you have the 299 top up activated?
Check My Airtel app if you are getting any offer of upgradation with unlimited internet?
ACT is available in South West Delhi? Which area?

@MadAxe - Yes I opted for 299. Hence there is no offer for me apart from switching to higher plans.

Location Dwarka And ACT is available fiber one in my area Sector 8 Dwarka but till Pole after that they are using copper wire only however never face any issue with them on speed.

@KAKU875 In case of Airtel fiber Prepaid cities (LCO), Why are they asking for Rs1000 installation charge even if we choose 6 months offer ?

And, Is there any kind of fiber cable charges in case if we choose 1 month advance only?

I guess thats LCO is charging to earn some extra money - Although I am not sure about it .For me payment was done online only hence if they are asking via online then its genuine or cash then you can understand who is charging you.

Fiber cable charges - never paid in my life even when I was using Reliance Broadband with 4Mbps (6yrs back) unlimited plan and wire was coming very far off from my place even after some complains linemen did kept a bundle at my place that next time will replace the whole length.

I'm from Dwarka as well. ACT is not available here.
You might get the offer of 1499 Plan with complementary 299 top up.
Are you on Telegram?

In LCO model there are two type of charges. One Rs.2000 activation(paid to Airtel) + Rs.1000 installation(paid to LCO).

The activation fees is for ONT+Wifi router. This is provided by Airtel and airtel waives it off on advance rental plan considering it as acquisition charges. Its same as giving first few month of broadband free or giving dual band router ont free. Whatever makes you feel happy.

The installation part is where franchise install fiber from DP box till customer house. Includes fiber joining box etc. This cost vary for each customer but Airtel won't give fiber free to LCO for installation. However Airtel has decided it at flat rate for each installation considering its own past installation experience. Also its part of franchise incentive for new installation. I doubt LCO would excuse the money here.
Consider it more of LCO tax.
Also this advance rental with free installation came 2-3years back only. Before that we all paid Rs.1k+tax for installation. I still remember it paying for adsl in 2015.

@MadAxe i am currently on vfiber and using the provided beetle router in bridge mode along with my nighthawk x6.

It took a lot of time and trial and error to set it up.

My main concern with aietel Xstream fiber (when it comes) is the router bridge configuration.

It would be extremely helpful if you or any one who knows about networking can help with this by making a tutorial if you have the free time for it.

I think there are already threads on how to put your ONT into bridge mode under Airtel Xstream Fiber section.

@igloo In my case, LCO was saying that if I choose only one month plan then I have to pay Rs2200 for ONT Router and Rs1000 for installation which is mandatory for every plan.
And if I choose 6 months plan then I will get 7.5% discount on total payment of 6 months of choosened plan. In this case ONT will be provide free of cost but still I have to pay Rs1000 for Installation.

Next day, I get call from Airtel's customer care executive. But She said different thing. She confirmed me that my city is LCO based. Whether I recharge for 1 month or 6 month, the ONT Router is free but in case of one month I have to pay Rs2000 as installation charge & Rs750 for fiber cable charge (upto 100mtrs & if need more than Rs8/mtr extra will be charge) and in case of 6 months then Rs2000 installation fee will not be charge but only Rs750 will be charge for fiber cable.

So I think you are right that the Rs2000 Activation fee is actually for ONT Router. If we pay Rs2000 activation fee for one month plan then ONT Router is customer's property and if we choose 6 months plan & don't pay Rs2000 activation fee then ONT Router is Airtel's property.
And Rs1000 installation charge is actually for Fiber cable !

@igloo I have also Jio Fiber as a main connection .
So, If I install Airtel Xstream Fiber Prepaid connection and don't recharge for many months suppose 4 or 5 months & used it only as a backup connection when need because it's a prepaid, will it's connection (service) remain active or it will get permanently disconnect within few months without recharge?
If I ask in straight way, maximum how many months the Airtel Xstream Fiber Prepaid Connection will remain active without do any recharge plan ?

No idea. Airtel Prepaid is new service for small town. Ask your LCO. He may be able to answer it better.

We got postpaid service only here and I am not getting any Airtel fiber as they are denying me old 649 plan on fiber promised before.
