Never had any problems in downloading EXE files. What exactly happens or what message do you get?

even with download managers not able to download any other fil types except zip,rar or rm files can somebody give a answer for this.

hi udyag,it seems that the problem is not at the BSNL side, coz i think that doesnt matters what type of file you are downloading...for bsnl its just DATA.there might be some problem at your computer. may be some firewall, some spyware or some security that would not allow you to download files...check out again..and correct me if i m wrong guys.Sandy

i have formatted the system now and still it is the same prb.Has anybody faced this prb.

It might help the members here to give you a more accurate response if you mention the exact antivirus or antispyware you have installed.. and any error messages that you get while trying to download the *.exe files. Also please check out your user/administrator privileges in the OS. A wild guess, try using "save to disk" option instead of "run ...." option. while downloading

I have norton antivirus installed but without that too i have tried but still not able to download i tried with netone and it is working fine.

OK tell us what procedure you use to download a file (i know its silly question, but might be of some use) also tell use what happens when you start downloading it...i mean does it stops responding (just hangs there as it is) or it gives some error.if it gives some error tell us wats the error is?Sandy

226.8 kilobits per second

Communications 226.8 kilobits per second
Storage 27.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 37 seconds
Subjective rating Mediocre

Can somebody find a solution.

Is this happening with ALL the exe files you are trying to download ? Or one particular file ?Alternatively, try downloading different exe files from different servers ?What about email attachments ( though I doubt any mail servers still allow exe attachments )Maybe its a server side problem.Since, you've tried everything from your side ...I seriously dont think it can be an issue with the BSNL broadband people ...
