so 2 weeks ago i got airtel Xstream fiber connection installed at my home.

background story:

so in 2017 i got a call from jio fiber that they are giving free fiber connection for 3 months with refundable security deposit of 4500rs. I opted for this and got it installed. I continued using free jio fiber internet for like 2 years untill they started paid plans.
In those 2 years i got full 95 mbps up and down speed. No complaint in that. But their ping latency and download speed was like horrible for non-peered content. I raised a disconnection request this year and got the security amount of 4500rs back within 20 days.
Then airtel called me and told that they are pre booking for upcoming ftth service in my area and i will get free installation and dual band wifi for 1000rs amount. This amount will be adjusted in 2 bills . 500rs discount per bill for 2 months.
I said yes and within 1 week of request engineers and hired labour started digging my street for underground fiber cables and OLT boxes . This continued for 1 month and work was done.

i again got a call from their engineer that service is live now and they are sending wiring team to my location. And installation process began and within 1 hour connection was installed and internet was up and running.

I choose 200mbps unlimited plan and getting more than 200mbps down and upload speed approximately.

ping is also fine. Just 10ms lesser than jio but surfing websites and streaming is way better than jio.

Seperate fiber layed from local central office for towers and home broadband connection.
They don't use same fiber for both connections.

Usually for all towns and cities they lay extra cables for feature purpose.

If they want to start broadband service. They will use that extra line.
From that for all streets they lay cables.

For towers, they lay directly to tower.

But for broadbands they need to lay each street.

Broadband fiber is laid out from AIRTEL so called BTS tower which is connected to the main office. There are many towers in a city but not all Bts ones. Broadband fibers are laid out from there to all the streets.

1 out of 5 towers are bts ones.

In my city LCO is laying fiber underground and over the pole depending upon the location.

I think you meant FUTURE purpose?

So when they lay fiber for the tower, they lay fiber for the broadband user too side by side? So that whenever they wish to provide the connection? They will simply dig them up and connect it to the street fibers right?

Towers fiber line directly goes to tower. It doesn't cover each streets.

Future purpose cables laid to your town. These run along with main roads.

To start broadband business in your town, they need to lay each street and sub streets.

For smaller streets, they run by poles.

If your place in this list. It is available in your area. They already laid the cables in main streets and started the busniess.

If " Launching soon" is showing means. They are laying cables and it will start in few months.

If " Invite now" is showing means. They will start laying cables in few months.

If your place is not in the list means. You need to wait more than a year.

Airtel will do work quickly in 2-4 months they complete the work and start the connections.
Jio is super slow. It will take one year.

I live in Delhi. What about that?

I already have Airtel VDSL. I want Fiber.

Request for diconnection. They will call. Tell them.

If your friends has connections too. Do the same.
They will do faster.
