By 5 march I have used around 850 GBs, discounting this fact and lets take date from 5 to 8th march I have used 329 GB out of which 323 GB is upload even then calculation don't sound right go right because with 2 Mbps connection I can download a max of 86-88 GB, uploading constantly 24 hrs

^Data according to BSNL SelfCare
Same problem.

I scoured through logs and my MAC address is different in last two digits with the one shown on Self Care, since the beginning of this connection (before bOT attack)

Note that there are TWO MAC addresses in your device, one is the WAN MAC and the other is the PON MAC so make sure you are checking the right one, especially if only the last two digits are different it could be from your device only.

@Realme arp -a probably shows WAN MAC, try locating the other MAC address in your device WebUI ?

Man the MAC Address in DeviceUI and one shown by arp -a both are same!

Only the one shown by selfcare is different

Are you not able to locate the other MAC address in your device UI? There should be two.

In my device there are two MAC addresses I can see and here also only the last two digits are different.

Hi thank you for taking out your time butr this is the only MAC I can see on this device.

I guess my only solution is to take screen shot and other documents and contact BSNL

If the mac address is differing by only two characters, then it's most likely your ONT's itself. As @vishalrao pointed out, the MAC address of the interface making the PPPoE connection could be slightly different.

Anyway to address the problem, it is possible that there is a device in your network which is probably infected and causing this surge in traffic. You may need to audit your networked devices.

@varkey I am pretty much sure of security on my network but even if I assume compromised one can't download gretaer than 22 GB data in a day, but anyway I will retest with a clean PC I have lying around and plug it into ONT to see if I am getting 2+ Mbps but capped due to some malicious virus.

Also malicious program must also transact some data but I have observed if I don't do any downloading/uploading the LAN led on my ONT doesn't blink , that program must be really deep in ONT to control thos eled blonks

Also some other user Nikhil is going through the same trouble?

No it can't bypass the cap.

It's possible your LCO's OLT is infected and misusing your connection, but I don't know how that might be.

Seems possible but I didn't had any UL?DL data caps or connection going off while my FUP lasted in paste few days as reported by many here

Do you have IPv6 enabled? For me over IPv6 the speed remains uncapped.

Sorry if I missed this, but have you have confirmed that your speed is indeed capped to 2 Mbps?
