I could be wrong but even if they survive in one form or the other (they may well be made to survive), in some areas reception could only get worse before it improves & its that phase when they could loose most customers.

Nothing like that is happening. Govt. is working on the options. DoT is just calculating but nothing like that would happen. It will be a major and massive crisis among the International Community if India forces Vodafone to shut shop.

I don't think Modi Govt. can afford any such crisis after Jet Airways in their time. No matter which Govt. is responsible, economy is going down the hill and it will be second major bankruptcy where Govt. didn't give enough room.

Where, BSNL/MTNL is being given endless and never ending cash reserve access.

++++++

Air India: Been in loss for so many years. Still being run.
Jet Airways: Govt. Silent.

BSNL/MTNL: Been in loss for man years.
Vodafone: If can't cancel AGR, must give some room and ease. If not, Govt. Silent.

Regardless of any Party, Govt. has been hypocrite when it comes to Public vs. Private.

@gomfi What you say is true whatever their state in future, service & connectivity is bound to suffer in some areas. This has been said before as also the fact that if things improve one can always come back. For example customers of MTNL & BSNL who want to surrender their connection, when they go to the exchange have to see only empty seats. And those who have just surrendered their line are not getting their deposit back quickly. In case of MTNL Mumbai from 3-4 days it's become 3-4 months. ☹🥴🤔

Even if VIL survive, they won't spend on network upgradation and optimization, which means the network will start getting worse, to a point where it will be unusable. As a result of this, there'll be mass port outs, and only a lakh subscribers will stay on the network. Eventually, they'll die a slow death, while still paying the AGR. This will cause them to do an Rcom(what they did with CDMA) and hurt their reputation without worrying about the consequences. Might as well go out now after all.

@JamesHolden25 they are upgrading their networks recently only they completed my area integration and up gradation now speeds went up drastically in kerala VIL has the best network possible JIO,Airtel is struggling

i really dont want to loose VIL experience in Kerala is very good with peak speeds around 230mbps and average speeds around 30-70mbps its very fast here, by the way do not expect a budget phone to give 230mbps phone also needs to support certain technologies to take advantage of the network

@amalrakoff It's nice that you're getting those speeds now. But the network will slow down after payment of AGR. There are many places where they haven't optimized their network. But you should keep an eye on VIL for the next 3 to 5 months.
