Hello there
I plan on applying for a new FTTH connection and have a few doubts

1. BSNL provide's a public IP, right? I have never seen bsnl giving internal ip's but I saw that another user was having issues with NAT, with talks about bsnl giving a internal IP. I need a public IP as i will be forwarding ports to access my DVR online

2. The LCO is asking for Rs. 3k as installation charges which includes a ONU with WiFi and a telephone port. He also said that I can buy a ONU myself in which case he would charge 1k as installation charges. What should i do? I need a ONU with telephone rj11 connector as that is important for my usage.

BSNL usually gives out public ipv4 address so you should be probably fine and it seems they are starting to giving out ipv6 in some places and you're mileage may vary on that.
1k for installation seems to be the norm these days and if you wanna get a ont yourself then you should ask the lco about type of PON he is using like EPON or GPON as they require different types of ont/onu.

It's mostly external, unless you opt for their limited mobility VOIP service in which case you'd get a switched to a private IP address scheme due to some technical limitation on how that service is implemented. Although I don't think many opt or even need it so it's really a moot point. 😂😂

In some areas you get public IPv6 as well.

EPON ONT with WiFi and telephone port will cost you some 1.5k or even a bit more when procured from outside. So not much of a difference. 1k for installation is the norm.

Oh ok thanks for the information
What is this mobile VoIP service? Is it the VoIP telephone they will provide with the connection or is it a different service?

The LCO seems to be providing a similar blue ONT except that it is not branded as Netlink but some different brand. I could not check it but i suspect that it will have the same web interface as netlink. Can you guys post the picture of the login screen that appears at 192.168.1.1 on the netlink modem? I just want to see if it's the same.

Yeah almost all of them have same ui and stuffs no much difference.. Tbh
1.8k +1k
Or 3k
I suggest go with the ont provided by LCO.
If in case something happens you can easily switch it.
