someone on the forum posted this as a miracle cure for covid. he shared some shady links which claimed that doctors are being stopped from prescribing this drug because it cures covid and drug companies do not want that because of all the money they would lose if they would just prescribe it.

Isn’t Goa using it as a prophylaxis i.e giving it to everyone to prevent the spread of covid
 
Yeah. It's definitely listed on one of the Indian government's own guideline for covid treatment. That guy shared that document as well.
