By re-infection I mean, someone who has got it before and recovered, still gets it again - and how soon from previous recovery. Not new waves as such.
one article I read about corona viruses research not specfically covid-19, it says immunity only last 2-3 months. You will need vaccines every 6 months.

Not looking good, 180k new cases
Almost 15k cases in india
55k cases in Brazil

There seems to be 2 inflection points, an inflection point signifies a turn of events(i.e. going towards more or less infections)
Inflection point 1 was the good news, if everything went like that we would have been in pretty good condition

But point 2 happened signifying a return of growth of cases which should have been the alarming point
To know whether we are moving towards a growth or a die out of coronavirus we need to find where the direction of curvature changes(known as point of inflection) and not the point where change in direction of the slope occurs

My worst fear is being stuck in a never ending cycle where daily 25,000 get infected and 24,000 get cured and 1000 die even after 1 year.

vaccines are under development maybe under 1 year it will distributed after trial. Vaccination from oxford med university are already under production and waiting for approval, beyond which it may or may not be given to general population.

Then there is news such as a second wave or mutated corona -or super spreader corona being found in china.

Glenmark said Saturday that the drug will be sold in a strip of 34 tablets with a dose strength of 200 mg for a maximum course of 14 days. The drug is priced at Rs 3,500, approximately Rs 103 per tablet.

Found from another article

Glenmark's FabiFlu approved for COVID-19 treatment in India; priced at Rs 103 a tablet

Priced at Rs 3,500 for a pack of 34 tablets (Rs 103 per tablet), the dosage is 200 mg X 9 tablets on the day one and 200 mg X 4 tablets a day for 14 days of the treatment.

This comes out to ₹ 6,695.

I am pretty sure the government is not going to subsidise it.

It's worse.

Looks like the above article had a typo. Confirmed the following from two websites. lol

Fabiflu, available as a 200 mg tablet, has been priced at Rs 103 per tablet. A strip of 34 tablets will cost Rs 3,500 to the patients. The recommended dosage duration has been fixed for 14 days. On day 1, a dose of 1,800 mg twice a day is recommended, followed by 800 mg twice a day from day 2 up to 14th day. The full 14 day treatment cycle will cost Rs 14,000 to patients.

According to me, the cost comes to ₹12, 566 but chalo ... nice round off till 14k.

Chinese trial's issue: The limitation of this study was that it was not randomized double-blinded and placebo-controlled.

Russia also did their own trial but have approved mid-stage. Their trial was going to end around December.

Glenmark's trial in India - was supposed to finish in July/August. Approved early?

Itlay also started a trial but with a giant warning - that evidence in support of the drug is scant.

Only 1 hospital in the US is doing a small trial. Another one started in London.
