My family got it through Max Labs, they are usually reliable, see if they are doing it at the moment.

Also this guy comes and takes samples. Not sure of the lab, i think it's thyrocare.

If you can't follow strict isolation at home then instead of hospital I'll recommend nearby hotel.
Get food from home via swiggy genie app.

i am considering getting admitted to a hospital so i can keep away from her.
Hospitals, as per protocol, will send you home for mild cases. They’ll test you, perhaps. But admission is another thing. Like @igloo suggested, opt for a hotel. Get an spo2 meter and self monitor your symptoms. Food can be arranged from home without issues I suppose.

If spo2<94 consistently for half hour, after checking on different fingers, go to Covid Centre or Hospital.

The case of the double mutant variant is a very good example of how policy stumbled. “It was detected way back. It was found again in November and December. By February, this variant is exploding, almost coinciding with the surge in Maharashtra. The discovery should have been acted upon immediately. But nothing happened. Now we are fire-fighting,” said the scientist quoted earlier.

The Central govt has always been 2 steps behind in this fight against pandemic. Where other countries are giving huge funds for genome sequencing which helped in developing the vaccines and taking proactive steps like UK govt did after finding the new UK strain. But our central govt didn't provide any substantial funds to it.

Now there is a threat of triple mutant virus which is emerging in some states especially MH, West Bengal, CG.

I saw videos few months back on the Brazil covid crisis and I just hoped something like that never happens to us. But it has happened. Its a full blown crisis. You can feel sympathy and see the helplessness of people who are requesting for beds, medicines, etc on social media. Can't even imagine what they must be going through while typing the tweet.

India is not the only country to have its coronavirus statistics questioned. But the testimony of workers and a growing body of academic literature suggest deaths in India are being underreported compared to other countries.

Mukherjee's research of India's first wave concludes that there were 11 times more infections than were reported, in line with estimates from studies in other countries. There were also between two and five times as many deaths than were reported, far in excess of global averages.

The key difference is that in countries like Mexico there was no systematic effort to hide deaths, just issues with the infrastructure, in India they seem to be deliberately trying to hide them to protect Gobi Jis image. It's not a coincidence that Maharashtra, Delhi and Kerala are reporting such high cases and UP and MP aren't.

I’m not sure if this is the right thread or if this question needs a new one? Which news channels do you guys watch/read to keep tabs on this COVID situation? I can’t get a grip because some channels are obsessing on how the situation is really bad wheras some of them are saying it‘s being blown out to tarnish the government. Its not about one extreme or the other. Honestly are there any news channels that are verifying government statistics with their own?
