I have taken a new BSNL ftth 777 plan, and they have provided a "Sharp Vision" modem with default SSID and password for wifi. Everything is working fine including speed. Now I have changed the SSID and password to my liking. Whenever I restart the modem, the SSID and password reset automatically to the earlier one provided by BSNL. This is frustrating as I have to change again after every restart. Any solution please? thanks

The link to the screenshot in my previous post is broken. Here it is

ok I have deleted the syslogd.txt file and restarted the modem. But my problem did not solve, it again revert to the original ssid and password. Should I also delete the files last_good_hs.xml? or delete all the files?

Could you please run df and share the output?

Also, note that the leading / has significance. cd /var/config is different from cd var/config. Anyway since you were already in the /var/config folder it was okay. 😉

Secondly, if the changes you make are bad ie fails validation, it reverts to the last known good version as a fail safe.

^ Looks good, so there is available space now. Try making a change and see if it persists?

Also try ls -l to see the timstamps of the files as well. Perhaps your config changes are failing the check and is getting reverted to the last working config. Notice the file ending with check_failed

@ varkey thanks for your prompt replies and helps. But I could not change my ssid and password permanently after so many retries by teleneting. Anyways I don't switch off my modem now and connected to a power point with inverter connection, so that it doesn't revert to the original ssid. Thanks

Yes I have raised my concern with the lco, and they have replied that this is the problem with all the modems they have received/purchased in lot and other customers are also unable to store any ssid and password at their will. So no option left.
