@kanurag94 Yes. I remember Pixel 2 XL had WiFi Calling option in Android 8.

@Nishant I know that I just mentioned that if the phone is in 2G mode where the phone will be not connected to network the WiFi call won't turn on.

Ok. Understood what you're saying now. It won't work if there's no network and then you turn the WiFi on. Once you're connected to VoWiFi and then you lose network VoWiFi will continue to work.

VoWiFi switching seamlessly to VoLTE during call if you disconnect wifi? call drop if i disconnect wifi, it also take 30+ seconds to switch to VoLTE properly. OnePlus 5.

Issue is fixed after OxygenOS 9.0.11 OTA now call is switching seamlessly to VoLTE during call if i disconnect wifi.
edit: VoWiFI also working with airplane mode on.

Trying to revive this thread in case anyone knows how to get it working.
Running Android 11 in poco x3 pro using Airtel postpaid. VoWiFi works fine with network but when I enable airplane mode, enable WiFi again it doesn't connect to VoWiFi.
Any ideas? Phone is already rooted so I'm ready to fiddle around with settings if needed.

Follow the steps here. Problem is this setting turns off by itself so you will have to repeat it again to get vowifi on airplane mode. I did work for me, but doing it repeatedly became tedious, so I left it. The user also mentions the samee.
Device-Poc0 X3.

does sms ever work on vowifi? like lets say, you have absolutely no signal, vowifi is working, so ofcourse you'll be able to make calls but will sms work? will you be able to get and send sms?
with any provider? jio , airtel , vi? with anyone phone?

Follow the steps here.
This setting actually turns on the SIM network even in the airplane mode. After using this setting, you can make normal calls even without Wifi. This setting just bypasses the airplane mode and activates the SIM
