when tracerouting... jiofiber is now hiding the gateway ips which are having issues and causing high ping for me.

I am having tis red light and green light issue frequently. I originally had black (single band) router in which the yellow light was rock solid. I opted for gold plan and my router was changed on request to dual band(blue router). Since then i am having these issues.
1. Some times yellow light blinking. Internet works but at a slow speed, applications do not launch on Jiofibre router or they launch but at a lower resolution or a lot of buffering. I reset the router and stable yellow light reappears only to start blinking again after some time.
2. Redlight stable or blinking. Internet works on blinking red light but doesn't work on stable red light. All video streaming applications again work either at a lower resolution or lot of buffering. Resetting router doesn't solve this problem.

Now that there is a lockdown , i am not sure if this will get resolved.

I made a complaint to Jio 2 days back got the message that my complaint has been resolved, on checking i noticed that my router firmware has been updated to SRCMTF1_JCO4032_R1.23....now lights seem to stable. Will observe for a week and update. Speed on wifi clse to router is 170-230 MBPs(gold plan).

Jio seem to have improved customer support since lockdown. They respond to complaints from Mumbai, seems very knowledgeable.

Previously they resolved my Zee5 issue with in 2 days.

Although there support from local service center was pathetic previously and none of my complaints were resolved. Both of my two complaints were lingering since last 3/4 months but got settled in lockdown. It seems engineers in delhi had no clue and they were not professional too.

R u from Delhi? Do you notice slow speed in night?

Also how did you complain jio about the blinking issue?

Did you complain on email or call... And what did you wrote?

From Vaishali Ghaziabad. Speeds were ok when lights were stable, but with red/yellow light blinking the speeds used to drop or even intermittent disconnection issue. This must have been 5/6th time i have complaint to them in last 5 months on their toll free number regarding this issue
Each time they used to send some novice who couldn't resolve this issue, but this time thanks to lockdown they are engaging their engineers from Mumbai to solve the issue. The firmware on the router got updated within 2 days of complaint. Now lights are stable (Atleast since last 2 days). Speed also is more stable, although sometimes buffering still persist on various video applications.

I have seen the engineers from Mumbai seemed more professional, knowledgeable and well groomed too. They solved my Zee5 issue also in just 2 days. And the person called me back to reconfirm if my complaint has been resolved, previously they used to close the complaint without enquiring from the customer.

They don't respond on emails so just call them on their toll free number.

I told them telephonically about the red/yellow light issue and the speed drop during blinking lights.

So you call their toll free numbers simply and they helped you from there?

Was it like they took request or was it like they helped you on the call itself?

Because If I call them, they just take the request... They don't try to resolve.

Check Private Message or Direct Message Inbox.

They take request only and then either some engineer will call you from Mumbai if the issue is specific to you only and address it on the phone itself. Or if the issue is the faced by many people, like the one we have right now(blinking light) they updated the firmware and later called me back to confirm if it's resolved or not.

Okay. So basically, I call there customer support, tell them I have red light blinking issue right?

What did you tell them when they ask you... If engineer is allowed to enter in your society? Did you say NO or Yes?

Yes and tell them that during blinking lights the speed drops. They will ask you to try restarting router and if issue persist. I told them that restarting router sometimes solves the issue but the issue reappears 5/6 times in a day so I can't keep on restarting Everytime.

They never asked me about engineer visit and simply registered my complaint. May be they already knew about the issue and that it can be resolved with a simple firmware update. Although I believe they have field engineers despite lockdown , because I saw some jio service men outside the gates of a neighbouring society.
