I hope in future Jio will allow to watch unlimited Live TV without counting data from monthly quota to attract customers from other DTH services. Jio should introduce very affordable TV plans with unlimited access to live tv service.
Do you guys think that Jio will do this in upcoming 3 to 4 months?

@Dhiraj what do you mean under stb directly ? And don’t jump to conclusions to quit dth 😛
Yes. You can't have easy navigation between channels in IPTV, like you could do in DTH.

@Yeskay yes you are correct. DTH is way more convenient. But for me personally, I do not flip channels every minute, and so it works. Also, I got jiofiber when my house was being renovated, so all their cables are completely concealed. If I get a DTH now, they will put cables running across the walls, and so I am avoiding it.

They can deduct the data from FUP for watching live channels. It should be fine, since I am saving the money by not having DTH, I can buy a bigger subscription of jiofiber.

They will mostly provide TV service through Hathway and Den cables.
I have a Jio STB which has the cable port and I am also having an active Hathway cable connection. I connected the Hathway cable wire to the Jio STB port and waited for about 5 minutes. The STB detected only 3 channels(some Hathway related promotional channels) and started playing those.
So now my 'Live TV' interface has completely changed and I see those 3 channels.
@abhishjha The channnels can be changed via the number keys on the remote.
So it is similar to DTH.
Don't know what they will do for those who have the STB without the cable port.

@ap99. so from the looks, it seems like jio box is indeed DVB-C not DVB-S, and what you saw was unscrambled channel being broadcast by hathway in your region. this is indeed wonderful discovery by @ap99. they may tie-up or sign MoU with various MSO in the region to give bundled Cable/internet..... @ap99 can you post the pics of channels along with epg UI here?

Yes. They have added Zee5 to Jio store. But almost all content is premium. Cannot watch on bronze plan. Is the premium content accessible to silver plan users?
(@Sushubh please move this thread to Jio Fiber broadband)
No. I have the silver plan. The Zee5 app is there. But on accessing it asks for login. This does not happen in other apps like Hotstar or Sony Liv

I have created a new thread about Live TV and posted the pics over there.
