Airtel Broadband: Recommended firewalls

Hi,I'm thinking of switching to a better firewall. I use Avast but feel sometimes it gimps my speed. I use broadband for online gaming and require an appropriate firewall. I'm thinking about Comodo but last time I used it, it was difficult to launch certain apps. Don't know if the latest version is better. Can anyone suggest good free firewalls?
 
Avira is a better AV than Avast & it is low on system resources too, Comodo is improving very quickly,If you have problems with comodo then try Online Armour which is as good as comodo.
 
Zone Alarm's free version dosnt have the same features as Comodo or Online Armour ( Free Version ), Comodo is very light on resources compared to Zonealarm
 
How about Zone Alarm ? From my experience it seems an effective firewall
