Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio, two subsidiaries of Ambani’s Reliance Industries, said they have soft launched JioMart, their e-commerce venture that works closely with neighbourhood stores, in parts of the state of Maharashtra — Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and Thane.

The e-commerce venture, which is being marketed as “Desh Ki Nayi Dukaan” (Hindi for new store of the country), currently offers a catalog of 50,000 grocery items and promises “free and express delivery.”

In an email to Reliance Jio users, the two aforementioned subsidiaries that are working together on the e-commerce venture, said they plan to expand the service to many parts of India in coming months. The joint venture has also urged Jio subscribers to sign up to JioMart to access introductory offers :

Any more screenshots of the service?.

I wonder how many current Jio customers will gleefully jump onto this bandwagon after their experience with jio fiber🤔🤪.
No email as a Jio user, nothing in the app either. Even share holders say they got no email!!! What bunkum the pet media hands out.

@socrates They say it’s a soft launch and available only in 3 areas of Mumbai. If you have a Jio sim, it shows the banner in myjio app.

Not for me. It maybe a soft launch but as a Jio user (jio fiber, jiofi, jio sim) I didn't get any email. Even friends who r shareholders got no intimation. 🙄

That’s strange. I am not sure if they are showing geo location based banners. I am from Navi Mumbai.

'JioMart is an online grocery delivery service, powered by Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio, where consumers can head over to buy essential household items from nearby retailers.' In that case y shud I waste time on this site? I might as well go directly to that nearby shop.

I have the pre-registration link on MyJio app. I guess my location is eligible.

do not put any hopes on this. reliance is going to disappoint yet again. and this time around they are going to take down your neighborhood kiryana stores. the backbone of this country's retail experience. they are going to use them to establish their own network and they are going to eventually fuck them big time killing the local retail market rendering lakhs of people without their livelihood.

Ever tried using BB Daily app or Big basket app, why should I waste my time and petrol to visit nearby store if I can get same grocery items delivered free of cost to my doorstep.

This is surely going to work but how effective will be the implementation is the question after watching botched launch of Jio fiber.

I use the D-Mart app. For me my local shops & Big Bazaar r all walking distance (& they ALL give home delivery). Even fruit & vegetable vendor in the municipal market now take orders on the phone & deliver home. Plus the local shop keepers, most who we know personally over the years accept my cheques. Infact before I i was compelled to buy phones online because of online only clause for many phones, my local shop would accept my cheque & I would walk away with the phone. Ofcourse he did that with v few people. Like @Sushubh said only discounts matter.
