@varkey please post a trace to cloudflare.
Is it going througey h Extreme Ix or private peering ?

@vignesh_venkatesan Earlier it was going through Extreme IX Mumbai, but right now it's through Airtel, perhaps hitting Cloudflare Chennai.

Hello!
Could you please post a ping test to google dns?
I will literally phone up bsnl right now and change connection if it's better lol.

Myself , @varkey and @Ameen are at different geographic locations and getting the similar results with BSNL. 🙂

Yep it is routing through chennai Since yesterday

@steam These smaller isps will be most affected during these lockdown days since they are overselling the bandwidth the situation will only worsen with online classes and all. They may not be upgrading the bandwidth immediately as it requires time I suggest u go with bsnl ftth which is more stable even though u will get 50mbps speeds. The donot have bandwidth issues . Before taking bsnl ftth check how they are providing connections is it via lco or not. Only take connections based on lco reliability.

As for ipv6 dont keep ur Hopes high on getting high speeds as it entirely depends on the ipv6 server location and other parameters which sadly happened in my case 😅.

So I've been in touch with the nodal officer and about 9384775484 different people from customer care. They're now apparently aware of the issue and are now trying to resolve. I figured, what the hell, I'd give them a week max before jumping ship.
