i called up customer care and they scheduled the home delivery for me. There’s no charge.

I got the STB today. Process was smooth but the installation guy admitted that this was his first installation. I helped him through the process.

He asked to me pick a base plan first. I did the silver 1 month recharge. That plan got queued up. Then after filling in my details in his app , he scanned the STB box and I got an otp. I used that otp and I got a message that I have redeemed my free STB.

He connected the box via Ethernet cable to my CPE and the box rebooted 3-4 times and did software updates.
I was able to pair the box via my mobile remote (JioHome app) and everything is working great. The box is quite fast.

In myjio, my old preview plan which is valid till 11th Jan is working. The plan that I paid for is queued up. I am not sure if the paid plan will get activated after 11th Jan ,let’s see what happens.
The guy had no idea about anything , so I didn’t probe in much.

@Dhiraj can you post pics of your fiber modem and STB (front and back)?

It’s a hybrid box with a round port which will be used for the local cable connection. On the STB , when I click on TV , it says we are with your local cable operator to bring you this service.

Sorry, but his set top box does not have the port for cable connection.

Looks even more primitive than my Airtel DTH box. That round port is for the coaxial cable, I think it's a 75 ohms cable.

On the carton, it says Hybrid set top box D JHS 200 costing Rs.6400/-

Yes all these imported stuff have obsence prices printed on them. Blatant over invoicing I think.

Ya. Don't know why i didn't get the model with cable port

@Dhiraj Isn't there a facility to connect the set top box wirelessly to the router?
And if there is, does it use dual band or only 2.4 ?
