Today I received the notification of STB, and suddenly plans appeared on my jio app. Jio giving 1000 gb for 7 days with 100 gbps speed at around Rs 240 /-.

But the monthly plan is at Rs 824 pm for 100 gb data @100 mbps. I don't get it why anybody goes for monthly plans. At 240*4 ~ 1000 rs you getting 4000 gb data @100mbps. Did I miss something or Jio f**ked up in explaining there plans on the app?

Seriously, logically this plan doesn't sound right.

yes this plan is not right it is for wifi or some shit.

wait let me find that post.

@Smh I don't think the plan is for wifi. It is for restoring your jiofiber speed after you have reached the FUP. Airtel has a similar plan for Rs.299 for its vfiber customers.

Nope ! Not yet. My assumption is based on the Error message that i got. It might be all together a different thing

Reiterating same thing I mentioned on another post:
I've been using Jio Fiber for past few months and now my free preview has ended (I reside in Bangalore btw). Here are things I know :
1. Got SMS regarding set-top box being delivered home.
2. Yesterday night my internet didn't use the free 100GB data vouchers I had activated and my speed is at 1Mbps.
3. Today morning I could see the plans displayed on recharge section. Something interesting I noticed was a "combo plan" 199/- which is 235/- including GST (1000GB data at 100mbps, valid for seven days).
4. I recharged for the 199 plan but it isn't activated yet and it's under upcoming plans in "My plans" section. Jio CC says it will be activated from midnight and also a base plan isn't required to activate the combo plans. (in case somebody is curious) as told by Jio CC.
5. Jio CC also clarified that Set top box apps will use internet data which comes with the plan. Set top box is free and will be given only to customers who opt for plans (doesn't include combo 199 plan).

So, that means there is no need for recharging monthly plans. LMAO.

Jio literally launching most logical plans. lo.l. Why not just launching 4000 gb monthly plan at 100 mbps.

@kakush30 What I thought but people who are not data mongers and want set top box plans bundled may find the regular plans suitable but then again FUP quota for these plans are measly if they depend on OTT service. This combo plan for 28 days gives you 4000GB data @100Mbps for 940 including GST, I'm guessing they added this after Airtel's 299 pack.

I spoke to cc just now and they said the 199 plan cannot be used as a stand alone plan. You need a base plan. 199 can be used only as a top up if your base plan data is exhausted.

even airtel does not offer 299 as a stand alone plan.

this makes sense , else nobody would opt for their STB.

I highly doubt that, the combo plan has speed, data and validity i.e. all traits of a standalone plan. And isn't 235 for a week too much for a addon without any significant benefit.

It looks like standalone plan. I think 199(235) is base plan for those want only broadband.
And 699 above gives stb services like Hotstar, disney ,etc paid subscriptions.
