Suggestions needed- Redmi AC2100 Router

I meant that the Redmi Firmware itself is a modded OpenWRT image. Last I heard is that they have made it hard to flash custom firmwares. But for 1800-2000rs I can't complain. I don't know how good are those 6 antennas, there are no reviews for the AC2100. The new Mi 4C router has pretty bad reviews over on Amazon.

I have been researching about both 245 and 225.
I'm inclined on getting the 245, it's around 5k. So this is the next project after lockdown.

Yeah, but it's a heavily modded OpenWRT, you wouldn't be able to use any custom OpenWRT features.

IMHO If you can't install openwrt then it's not worth to get a Chinese router.

Yep, I completely agree. Without mainline OpenWRT support the Redmi AC2100 is not worth at this point.

If anyone is getting EAP 245, make sure you are getting 3rd revision one, else you will receive no latest software updates.
Last s/w update for v1 is from 2018.
I think the one shown in LTStore is v1 from the pics.

I sent out an email to regional TP-Link distributors and one of them responded right away (Oxford Infotech). I've asked them to confirm if it's v3.

EAP-225 = 3600+GST
EAP-245= 4400+GST

If it's v3, that's decent pricing, similar to LT Store
