Need some info about modem and router to use for FTTH. I have taken a new connection.

So I had applied for BSNL Ftth since march this year. And after lots of BEGGING and complaining here and there finally they have put FTTH cable at my home. (There's no other FTTH provider in my city so had to run behind the BSNL babus to provide me FTTH). 2 days before I have even paid the security deposit. Now I dont know when they will install the modem. My queries are:-

1. As of now I have taken TYPE A modem on rent from them which is 90Rs per month. Now I went to many local stores in my cities but nobody keeps ftth modem. I looked online and i came across one modem of DBC Technologies which also supports telephone.

Will this modem support my ftth connection? If yes how are the reviews for this modem. My FTTH connection is directly from BSNL and not through any Third party agent. So before purchasing it I wanted to know if it will work or not. Also if it wont support which modem will support? Can anybody provide link? I also want to use voice with it.


2. Till the time I purchase any modem I will use there's only on which I will need to connect wifi router. Now I have my old D-Link ADSL 300 mbps wifi router. I have read somewhere that it supports only speeds upto 24 mbps when connected to WAN is it true? Also I have second wifi router also Miwifi 3c router for wifi. Will it give me speed of 50 Mbps as I have taken 849 Rs plan?

3. I have a D-Link repeater DIR-505. If I use it to extend range will the speed drop?

The one on Amazon is bit expensive. Both got same design i guess its the same product with different brand.

Try to get your netlink modem from your local dealer to get the warranty. I got it for 1800₹(the real price is around 1750 with gst). If u can't get the this one try searching for Syrotech ont that will be fine.

I am using the same ONT and it works perfectly fine.
 
OK so I got the FTTH installed. I am getting DL and UL speeds of almost 55-60 Mbps (849 Rs plan) The ONT is Alphion AONT 100C. I asked the person who came for installation if I can purchase ONT from market and install. He told that ONT will not support this since the OLT they are using is of Alphion only. So I guess I will have pay the rent per month 🙁 .

Also if anyone can help me. I have installed TP-Link Archer C6 router. When I connect to 2.4 Ghz band wifi the download speed reduces almost to half. While I get proper speed in 5 Ghz band and wired connection. Is the router having any issue or is it fine? I have read in reviews that speed does gets reduced in 2.4 Ghz band.

Will it support the FTTH connection directly from BSNL (No TIP involved). Coz the person who came for installation told me that there OLT is of Alphion so ONT should be of same brand
