hi guys, i was happy with bsnl till now even with their low speed but cheaper unlimited data broadband . a jcp was digging side roads for some reason ..and it cut some cables ,do any one know how long will it take to rectify this problem,any bsnl consumers have faced it? please give me some idea how long it takes ,what did you do about it. its been 5 days till now..the phone line is dead obviously 🙂) . so i might want to try just disconnect only broadband plan now keeping only landline for now if they repair it in a month ,if it takes longer then i would disconnect surrender landline too and wait for its head to raise from mud..
anyone knows how to disconnect just broadband through selfcare online ? thanks
by the way the technician i called today said..mmm mmm dont know sir,it might take some time- that explains..i might disconnect broadband in coming weeks 😛
 
Tweet them. Depends on the area and the authority taking care of the cable (BSNL itself or any LCO). It usually takes 24h to rectify the problem.
 
You can disconnect it via submitting a form/application in the exchange. There is no online procedure afaik.
 
i saw some options in selfcare about remove features ,but i am confused which one to opt ,it would be greatful if anyone takes a look and guide me,thanks and is it possible for temporary broadband disconnection and my bill to be waived off during that period? thanks for replying me
 
yes, you can opt for safe custody(temporary suspension), again you will have to go the exchange. I think safe custody costs like Rs 50 per month and you can opt for a maximum period of 3 months iirc.
 


It depends the no of lines affected and the area. If more than 20 connections affected. It will rectified in a week or two. Otherwise on their own time zone, regarding safe custody, there is no maximum period, My phone is in safe custody for the last 3 Yrs, I am getting bill of 59 INR every month till now, since my no is a fancy no, I am still paying for it and kept on hold. Don't know when I will activate and use again 🙂
 
MTNL lines were cut during metro work close by & my area lines ( many thousands) were dead for over 2 months (in 2017). Then again in 2018 it was dead for over a month 😳 that's when I gave up on MTNL Broadband & used jiofi as a temporary solution till i got jiofiber.
 
thank you so much for such insights,i will wait for a week now and go with safe custody ,its great news for me,thanks again. and i would like to know about any unlimited data with any dongles possible in less than 500 rs. i dont have much options here for other broadbands if i am leaving bsnl in case.
 
You don't need to disconnect at all.

At the end of the month when they send the bill, write a letter stating that the broadband never worked for so many days with details of start and end dates, and ask for a rebate, then go to the BSNL CC and hand it over to the manager.
IMPORTANT- take an acknowledgement from them for your letter

The BSNL accounts guys will refer your usage log to verify the non usage number of days and issue the rebate in the next month bill. If the rebate does not come, go to the accounts office with a copy of your letter and the acknowledgement, and meet the accounts manager. It will be settled in 2 minutes.

I have done it many times.
 
Great idea. I believe it depends on the exchange. Staff at some exchanges are too difficult to handle.

yes, true ,some staffs act as if they are holding this globe on there very shoulders! but wish it was a online procedure , last time i had a issue about free calls but billed for that,i tried to approach them ,they said me to go to accounts office which is far away from my place. thanks for the reply tho

oh ya , when i try to close the connection once,the lady there avoided to give me acknowledgement ,no matter how i pleaded to just write her name that she recieved the letter
