It could also apply to calls done thru Jio Fiber

The so called compensation will probably be another scam as they know most customers will not be sitting with a calculator.
Nice Diwali gift from Reliance
Shows NEVER trust the promises of ANY company. And they hav the cheek to add tht v shud get our friends onto their network. High hopes now. Shows their arrogance. For those who don't exceed their data limit it it's a kick in the gut

WTF so now other operators will also follow this. From when this is applicable??

Their internet is shit in my area what I am going to do with extra gb, I don't even need mobile data I have wifi.

You can never trust Reliance scam company. I hope people start moving to other operators. I just have one jio connection which I took much after the free period was over other are airtel.

Fed up with Jio's blatant lying, have mailed this to Jio care and appellate

  • Hi, Jio had made a promise that voice calls will always be free. Based on this I bought a few vouchers for our family nos xxx and xxx. Now Jio has come up with need for IUC packs to make calls.

Before this Jio had reduced outward ringing duration. Your spokesman claimed that Jio customers had no problem with this reduction in spite of so many complaints made to Jio customer care by various users. Your spokesman claimed it had nothing to do with wanting to get other users to call back on your network to gain back on IUC but instead that it was for 'efficient spectrum usage'.

It should actually be a matter of shame for any company with even a bit of integrity when spokesmen speak such outright lies on behalf of the company. Any self respecting company would have increased its plan charges if needed, but what Jio has done is something extremely shameful and underhanded. It completely exposes the true character of the company with its words having no value at all. Otherwise you should have made it clear beforehand that voice calls would be free only if TRAI reduced IUC to 0.

Anyway it has become quite obvious that Jio cannot be trusted at all in any of its talk or promises. If voice calls are not free any longer without need for IUC packs, I need a refund for vouchers that I've already bought based on your false promises. After the refund, I'll port out to a lesser evil of the existing operators.

Btw, if someone has noticed or not, but calls made to Jio/non Jio/Toll free network will automatically disconnect exactly after 45mins. Earlier this was 1 hour. I used to be with airtel 3 yrs ago and this used to happen in 90 mins.

Not sure why they disconnect, it's quite difficult to be done on a call such as Computer manufacturer trouble shooting or Amazon/other customer service.

So some kind of tariff hike it seems. So for example if we recharge with ₹98 + ₹10 iuc top-up = ₹108 we will get total 3GB data + unlimited SMS + unlimited Jio to Jio calls + 124 minutes of Jio to other networks.

Also in the press release they are telling that to enjoy free voice invite your friends to Jio network 🙄

Damn sure after spectrum auction they will say that we are compelled to increase the plan rates due to higher spectrum prices.

And now will they increase the call ringing time back to normal ?

Now Airtel, VIL will make it aggressive they will also reduce the benefits.

I think it's all because Jio has a lot of debt since they have invested a lot onto the Fiber backend but the return from it almost negligible.

First it was DTH, now it's Mobile Network. What is next? Internet?

Mota Bhai knows how to play cards with Government.

P.S.: I was missing Mota Bhai comment so I thought I would do the honors.

Got back a long winded mail from Jio care about how it's all TRAI's fault and how data compensation is being offered. Wrote back

Hi, what TRAI has said and not done is not my concern, I'm not TRAI's customer. What you've said and not done is my concern since I've purchased services from you. I'm not interested in any data compensation, I need to make voice calls at charges agreed before. If not possible, need refund for existing unused vouchers bought as they were bought based on your promises (not what TRAI would or would not do) and will port out after that. Please do not use long winded marketing spin for something that can be easily seen in a straightforward manner.
