Now, the operator has relaunched the Rs 777 plan and it co-exists with the Rs 849 broadband plan. Before BSNL revised its broadband plans, the Rs 777 plan came bundled with 500GB data and 50Mbps speed for a month. The after-FUP speed for the plan was 2Mbps. Now, that BSNL is bringing back this plan, it is available with a promotional offer. The plan is available in all circles except the Andaman and Nicobar circle.

The offer notes that this plan, also called 500GB CUL plan, will be available for a period of six months only. In other words, if you enroll for this plan then it will be available for the next six months only. After that you will have to switch back to the Rs 849 plan.

Does anyone know why BSNL is still not able to provide plans having more than 100mbps even though they have the capacity. Many private operators are providing 100mbps speed with lowest of their plan tthrough optical fiber connections. Why is BSNL still lagging behind in this case.?Airtel 300mbps plans now and even the local operator here in kerala is also has a 100mbps plans even with their base plans.I mean FUPs above 400 gb are downright useless even for a hard user.I am talking about Bharat Fiber Connections.Does Anyone know anything about this?

Maybe because BSNL relies on third party vendors a lot. (LCOs) thus they cannot ensure or coordinate with every one of them to use the right OLT equipment which has capacity for higher than 100 mbps speeds.

But I hope I am wrong and it is just a matter of BSNL being slow to respond and maybe eventually they will offer higher speed plans.

They are already offering 150/200 mbps plans in some select areas I understand (tamil nadu?) someone here has posted before.

Yup But they should immediately launch the high speed plans otherwise they will lose customers.Who wants higher Fups even if they don't have appropriate speed to consume them. For eg: in a household when 4 members are simultaneously streaming from Netflix/Prime etc these 50 Mbps speed will easily be saturated.
