How to get a better Airtel plan?

Hi.

I am currently on following plan:
Bill Amount: 600 rupees (800 rental - 200 retention discount)
Down Speed: 16mbps
Up Speed: 1mbps
Data: 100gb per month

I need:
More up speed and down speed and even lower rental.

When I called Airtel, they told me I am already on retention plan (200 discount) & if I increase my speed, I will lose retention discount.. What should I do?

Due to VDSL limitations I decided to disconnect my Airtel 40 Mbps plan and retain only the landline #. I emailed support and they called back saying they cannot provision only a landline and gave me a Rs 100 retention discount on the monthly rental. So I pay Rs 100 less which effectively comes to Rs 799 (200 off their current price on the website) plus GST @ 18%. Plus retain all benefits including Airtel XStream, Netflix (not yet utilised) Wynk music and miscellaneous freebies.

If you are already on a retention discount they won't offer any additional cuts in rental. Your best bet is to upgrade the plan provided wire line condition permit it.

PS - this is an unlimited data plan

Its really hard to get good speed and fup on airtel for 600 bucks. you can get 40mbps/100gb for 740+gst if you pay for 6months in advance. Apply for cancellation saying you are getting better plans from hathway, their retention team will call. tell them to change your plan to 799 6 months ARP and ask them to give you a discount to match hathway's price. the will put you on 799 ARP plan(740/mo) and then they will credit 100-200 per month+gst for 6months i..e 600-1200+gst. so your effective monthly rental will come down to 640-540/mo+GST.

But I am already on Retention 200 discount. Will your method work?
