I wish to gift a gizmo and thought that a PDA+Cell phone would be a good idea. Could someone guide me on make, brand, model, availability, cost, etc. Budget is large, whatever it takes in fact. However item should have robust design and construction and should be utilitarian. Weblinks for details will help. Best wishes.

Sony erricson p910O2 XDA IIand others

I have checked out weblink: ebay.in and found that ...Nokia 9300SONY ERICSSON P910HP iPAQ h6315O2 XDA II.... are the common offers. All are in the 26K to 36K range. However, I am told that most of the facilities available on these items are not really usable since bandwidth is poor locally. One is not able to receive and transmit data at adequate speeds and volume. Can you/anyone explain what can be used and what cannot be and if the item is really useful. It should not be little better than an electronic diary with a phone attached, if you know what I mean. After all ... camera phones are available for under 11K today. So explain to an idiot please. Best wishes.

man y do u need these phones are u a hot shot executive in a very high position in firm ?y r u wasting so much money just get any good phone and install all the apps u need on it

Well ... you are right.
However, like I said in my original query ... I wish to gift it to 'a hot shot'
I am not sure the regular cells can have some useful apps installed thereon.
Your guidance please.
Costs like success are relative. More you have ... more the relatives. Get it?
Best wishes.

I've used the O2 XDA II but I recommend the O2 XDA IIs (I'm not sure of the exact model no. but the s has a inbuilt keyboard). The XDA II is 22k, XDA IIs is around 27-28k. Round figures, all hong kong and ebay US prices. No idea about India. You cannot get a better phone than the O2 in terms of build quality, screen, speaker and battery life are top-notch.

go for p910 mani also a keyboard like thingand it has recently slashed its prices don't have any idea how much it would cost but maybe around 22k
