Just received a call from Airtel.... they said they will tell contact me within 24-48 hours for the installation.

Rs. 1000 installation charges, a free router, and Rs. 1100 (including GST) 100 Mbps Unlimited plan.

I guess bye bye Jio.
That is an amazing plan is this normal official plan in your city? or you are getting some special offer?

It is the official plan. I will hold off tho, lets see what are Jio's next steps.

Totally agree. This has been a mess. In any case I am not bothered now. For now its working free and when it gets paid will take Silver plan for a month and see how things develop

Well I am in a very awkward situation right now. As I thought the current plans will finish on 4th september. I decided to experiment to find out how much data does Jio actually give on the free offer . They say it is 1100gb but in reality I was still able to do more top ups etc. So I put up a script which downloaded a 50gb file deleted it and again downloaded it and deleted it. So the limit turned out to be 7000GB (100GB base plan + 50*40GB top ups + 49*100GB Plan renewal) out of which I now only have 30GB left and I am not able to do anymore top ups. So now I can not wait this free period out to see if jio gives some better offers or not 😆 .

is jio allowing to subscribe monthly plans ?

Stb and Router is only available with welcome offer so for that minimum 3 month subscription is required.

Stb and router cannot be considered free because they take security deposit and you have return it if you disconnect jio.

The more you look at plans it keeps getting worse.

Okk.so let me make things clear now for us who r under preview offer and for those who are planning to get jio fiber.jio had to commercially launch their service on 5th sep.so they had to declare plans.so they just did it without thinking much about the plan benefits etc.

now the main question about whether tv service will be available frm jio set top box or not?So answer is

yes it will be available.

but,

here is the catch.

they won't provide live TV service via jio tv app as an IPTV service.rather it will be via local cable operators ..So trai rules will follow there as usual.

So now the question about why they have not disclose anything about tv service??

This is because they are aggressively working with local cable operators in order to get agreement done.and yes, talks are in final stage and infact as I speak, they have even started designing channel price for specific channel along with alacarte packs..And these plans will be very disruptive even after following trai rule because most probably they will wave off the entire ncf that is network capacity fee which stands 153 rs as of now.so they r designing plans in such a way that we may get almost all premium channels in around 300 rs /month.

Now the most important thing.the fate of we users using ae preview offer.

Jio won't be charging now frm anyone till the time they get their agreements related to tv service done and all the channel packs have been made.

So another question till when will it be free for us! most probably they will continue to provide free service to us till this month end or may be Oct 1st week.

Now the obvious question about the launched plans which we r seeing and which seems a waste of money to spend to.jio will be coming up with some new and DISRUPTIVE plans during durga puja that is Oct 1st week.we can assume that under 1000/month we will have more than enough data with us along with almost all premium tv channels ...

This info I have got frm my friend whose freind works in jio mumbai head office.so I can blindly trust him....☺️☺️

@abhishjha this better be true.. 🤔 Cuz 500gb fup is minimum required by most people when using broadband.
They need to increase that fup nd get that channel stuff sorted as soon as possible.

Jio won't be charging now frm anyone till the time they get their agreements related to tv service done and all the channel packs have been made.

Hmmm why? They haven't mentioned about their tv service anywhere in their plans. So if they haven't promised anything why would they wait for a non-existent service (as of yet) to start charging for internet plans?

hmm in monthly plan list it says "Welcome offer Home devices"

can you link their press release?

@Sushubh

also can anyone confirm this with customer care
