Does the Netlink V2801SG GPON ONT (non-wifi, 1 gigabit ethernet port) have bridge mode?

Yes, assuming the UI looks something like this, you could do the same.

@varkey That's the thing i have this very simplistic blue UI and while trying to add a WAN connection all I get is the "Route" option. There's only one option in the drop down. Is there a firmware update page for Netlink maybe?

Hi @BSNL_Loyalist the UI looks exactly like my ONTs (Digisol and OptiLink) ZTE chipset based. And yes, you simply delete WAN connections (or dont create any) and it is in bridge mode by default.

I am using that with my BSNL FTTH connection in bridge mode and I have created username/password and provided VLAN ID in my Netgear R8000 router and it is working like a charm.

@BSNL_Loyalist I didn't need to mess with MAC addresses because it looks like my LCO does not use MAC binding at all, for me the connection just worked when I configured my router after putting my ONT into bridge mode.

But if you see your ONT there will be two MACs ... PON MAC and WAN MAC... you need to clone the WAN MAC on your router or ask your LCO to whitelist your router's WAN MAC.

And unless you are sure there was no VLAN ID configured (VLAN option is there in the ONU's WAN config page) it will be a problem if your router does not support VLAN IDs.

Please note that the MAC whitelisting is not done on the OLT, its something on BSNL's PPP authentication server and has nothing to do with the OLT/ONT etc.

Now if your ONT shows fiber link is good and registered with OLT, you are good as far as OLT is considered.
