Amazon India launches Amazon Fresh store with 2-hour delivery on Amazon.in

Customers in Bengaluru can now shop on Amazon.in for daily essentials and get ultra-fast 2-hour delivery

Bengaluru, August 22, 2019: Amazon India today announced the launch of Amazon Fresh store on Amazon.in for select pin-codes in Bengaluru. The Amazon Fresh store will serve a complete grocery experience with the most convenient 2-hour delivery slots powered by Prime Now from 6 AM to midnight on Amazon.in.

With Amazon Fresh, customers can order their complete grocery requirements across a selection of over 5000 fruits & vegetables, dairy, meat, ice-creams, and dry grocery like staples, packaged food, personal care and home care. These ultrafast deliveries are powered by Amazon’s Prime Now service which was earlier available only on the separate Prime Now app. The Prime Now app, will continue to serve customers in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Siddharth Nambiar, Director – Category Management, Amazon India said “With Amazon Fresh, customers can experience the convenience and speed of ordering daily essentials on Amazon.in. Now, customers can order the freshest fruits and vegetables as well as everyday grocery and get it within 2 hours. We are starting this service in Bengaluru and will soon roll this out to customers in other cities.” Through the Amazon Fresh store on Amazon.in, Prime members will get exclusive access to the fastest 2 hour delivery slots for INR 49. All customers get convenient 2-hour delivery slots from 6 AM to midnight with free delivery for orders above INR 600. Orders below INR 600 will be charged a delivery fee of INR 29.

Customers can discover Amazon Fresh store on Amazon.in app, desktop or mobile browser by searching for ‘Fresh’, or by clicking on the Grocery menu.

I think it is sourced from other local stores. Last time I ordered cat food on Prime Now app it was delivered by More MegaStore. And they delivered a different cat food of same brand which my cat does not like.

I can understand if BigBasket or FlipKart goofs up the order, but Amazon has so much resources and profits they can do much better. It's not surprising why consumers are preferring to order from local stores directly. With just a phone call we can get medicines, chicken/fish, groceries/vegetables, bottled water and whole lot of other products delivered home within an hour or two max.

just need prime results. but i still can't have it. earlier it was just pantry. now i also have to deal with fresh results.
 
It was nice when prime now and fresh had a seperate app, but to consolidate everything in one app, their filtering is a bit hit and miss.
Pantry, fresh, now, prime all mixed up sometimes.
 
I wanted to order Baby Wipes. On Amazon it was costlier compared to Fresh. So I ordered from Fresh with schedule delivery for next day.
Next day I got call few minutes before delivery window end from Delivery guy that he would deliver product. I said I am at home and he can come. Later I forgot about it.
I realised after 1 hour that guy was suppose to come. I check in Amazon app, and it was displaying product delivered. I was surprised. I checked with Security about any parcel kept at gate. But he said no delivery from Amazon received. I raised complaint through App and had call with Customer care mentioning that product displayed as delivered, but I did not receive. CC mentioned they contacted delivery agent and he is saying parcel is delivered. But since I did not receibe they can mark parcel as missing after 3 days.
Just after call ended, in 5 min delivery guy came and delivered parcel. The guy also said his bike failed, so he was late. I asked why he marked it as delivered then. For that he said he is suppose to deliver within time window so he marked it as delivered. I said fine, but I have already raised complaint.
Either delivery guys bike really failed, or they are heavily loaded due to sale.
 
This is somewhat of a common practice where they mark them as delivered and deliver later during the day. I wish the delivery guys explain beforehand when they mark them as delivered. Has happened to me a couple of times - once with Grofers and once with Amazon. Both times, I contacted the delivery guy and then he explained his situation.
