Using the 777VR1 only in modem mode

I recently switched over to Airtel's V-fiber service and the router that seems to have come with the service is very confusing to setup and it is difficult to see what devices are connected to it. I wanted to use my old router which has DD-WRT firmware on it and I am very familiar it. I wanted to use the 777VR1 only in the modem mode and disable its Router part. I read through the sticky post on this but I'm not sure what the VLAN ID for Pune, MH is. Can anyone please help? Also is it possible to simply disable the WiFi on the 777 and setup a DMZ where my old router can exist.

@hpb the VLAN ID is 100 for Pune and yes you can disable the Wi-Fi in the WLAN section of the admin page.

@hpb you will need to set the DMZ in the router/firewall box (for e.g. your DD-WRT router) that performs this function, not the 777VR1 which will only act as a dumb VDSL modem.

Oh! So that would mean that if I turn off the WiFi on the 777 the whole wired routing function also shuts down? My plan was to keep the router as it is now (without making it a dumb modem) and place my old router in the DMZ created by the 777.

No, disabling Wi-Fi and bridge mode (no routing) are two different things.

If you want the Airtel modem's routing function to be on then you need to let it continue in PPP mode i.e. perform authentication function etc. Remember to enable the SPI firewall on the modem.

If you switch off the Wi-Fi function simply connect your existing DD-WRT router to one of the LAN ports on the V777 and disable its (DD-WRT router's) routing function. Make sure you set it to Access Point mode. You don't need to place it in the DMZ.

Ah no, I want my old router to be the primary router. I'll be connecting all my wired devices to this old router. I guess I will have to convert the 777 to be a passthrough modem-only.
