I am using an airtel connection in Dwarka, Delhi. Initially, i had a Binatone 920W router which on LAN gave speeds of up to 40 Mbps and on wi-fi, it was ~30-35 Mbps.
Recently, the airtel guys changed my router to Beetel 777Vr1. Although, this router gives approx. 40 Mbps speeds on LAN, the wi-fi speed is drastically reduced to ~5-7(or 8)Mbps. What are the normal speeds for wi-fi on airtel broadband? (Just give a general idea of what you are getting, in Delhi region) Like I said previously I used to get 30-35 Mbps on wi-fi, so yeah which one is the outlier, the slower speed or the faster one?
Also, the 2 routers i mentioned are they actually routers or modem-cum-router. As of now, to me, it seems these are only routers and not modems but then how am I able to use the internet. Do these airtel guys connect the routers to a central modem or something?
