They waited too long. Now even 5G is knocking on the door. Btw I ported one number to Airtel on my Pixel 2. Huge relief in terms of browsing speeds. Airtel 60 Mbps and Jio 0.1 Mbps. But sad part is Airtel doesn’t support VoLTE on any of the Pixel series. Pretty sure Google has to provide software update to enable VoLTE. Google are the real tards.

Airtel needs to address indoor coverage issue in cities. Data speeds are much better than Jio or Vodafone.

Not just in cities. But, this is due to lack of spectrum in lower frequencies. Jio has low frequency spectrum that provides better indoor coverage. So, Airtel can never match Jio in terms of indoor coverage in 4g. They don't have any plans to buy any more spectrum in low frequency either, due to ever increasing cost of aquiring spectrum in lower frequencies. Just because of the coverage issue, they still keep some of 2g spectrum for voice services.

All are eyeing for 5g. But, that depends on various policies and pricing of 5g spectrum.

For Jio, failure to buy spectrum from Reliance Communication is a big blow to them and it affects its customers now and Airtel took advantage of the situation by improving their own services in the meantime. It's all good for the consumers. If the spectrum sale went through between two Ambani brothers on time, then Jio may even acquired more consumers resulting in a monopoly in the long run.

Now, I am looking forward to Vodafone to do something to stay in the competition. Probably, they can use their experience in 5g to go ahead of the competition when it launches. If they don't capitalize on 5g either, Vodafone may be forced to exit from India operations in the future.

To be honest, I am having good 4G indoor reception on their 1800 Mhz band. It's as good as Jio but VoLTE is not enabled on my Pixel 2. Such a deal breaker.

Airtel 3G network shut down in Haryana: Here's what 3G customers need to do for accessing Internet

The discontinuation of the 3G service was done in favour of improving the 4G LTE services in the state of Haryana. Airtel says the 2100MHz spectrum that was used for the 3G services will now be dedicated to the 4G services in the state, thereby improving the connectivity for 4G subscribers.

Airtel 3G customers need to upgrade to the 4G SIM cards as well as purchase a new smartphone that supports 4G networks.

However, existing 3G subscribers won't face disruption in service. Airtel says it will continue to offer voice service to subscribers with 3G SIM and handsets. Airtel will continue to provide 2G services in Haryana to serve the connectivity needs of customers on feature phones.

I have 2 SIMs on my Nokia 6.0 phone, primary is Airtel and other is Jio. I use the secondary JIO SIM for 4G network and primary Airtel only for voice calls.

It shows "highest connectivity" as "3G" instead of 4G in the Airtel SIM as a result of selecting secondary JIO SIM for 4G data connectivity.

Will my Airtel SIM stop working if they disable 3G network then? WIll I be forced to stop using JIO and use Airtel for 4G data as well? Or will the voice only part continue to work as existing mode?

I'm nervous now :D

H+ is working for me so far here in Gurgaon. It would become a problem if it becomes unavailable as Pixel 2 does not have VoLTE so I would be forced to use 2G for calls. And Calls are already shit on H. 2G is worse.

I am hoping regular voice is regardless of whether 3G or 4G is enabled. It should be regular GSM band based voice, of course, VoLTE would be best.
