I was just going through some speed test and in advance settings , I got to know that on 5Ghz band link speed is only 150 mbps and on 2.4 Ghz band its 74 mbps. I am talking about the white model. Can anyone tell me about the link speed of black colour model on 5ghz and 2.4 ghz?
Well I think Jio is not providing accurate information related to router, they are just its a gigabit router but it only have gigabit ethernet ports.
 
what wifi device do you have where you are checking link speed? laptop? link speed also depends on it, if it is a slower/older model wifi-5ghz device it will connect at lower link speed.
 
I am using white box
Link speed of 5ghz band on my OnePlus 6 is 866mbps

On laptop its 433mbps

2.4ghz band link speed is 174mbps

So it all depends on which device are you connected with.

Using mobile phone Redmi note 4 , will check on another device as mentioned by uou , it depends upon device.
 
I made another observation.
My router is dual band white one. Checked Link speed from my Moto G4 Plus mobile using Netvelocity made available by Jio.

On 5.0, the Link speed when closest to Router is 150 Mbps and gradually reduces to even 13 Mbps as we move away from Router with walls in between.

On 2.4, the Link speed when closest to Router is 72 Mbps and gradually reduces to even 1 Mbps as we move away along the same route.

So, in my observation, the Link speed with a particular pair of devices depends on distance and obstructions.

As we move away, RSSI and SNR also reduce. The link speed may be internally calculated by these values.

You'll get the maximum on flagship chips. I have had better throughput on iOS devices. On my Samsung A50, i see around 600Mbps on the 5Ghz and 75mbps on the 2.4ghz.

@MSR Murthy Further to your observation, the link speed apart from Distance, is highly dependent on the Channel and Cross talk.

Yes , noticed the same thing, it depends on distance and interferences as well.

You can't change the channel on the jio router. You don't need to change the channel in 5 GHz because it isn't that common. For 2.4 GHz, what I have done is I disabled 2.4 GHz on jio router connected my old Mi 3C router via ethernet. So that way I can change the channel settings on Mi 3C router easily.

So if you have a router lying around idly make use of that.

Yes, I also asked the customer care , they said they font have any information about that. May be when the commercial launch takes place, they will unlock all the settings.
 
On 2.4ghz speeds don't cross this. But the link speeds are 72Mbps. I thought speeds will be atleast 65Mbps while sitting near the router.

No matter how many tests done maximum download speed is 48Mbps and upload is 53Mbps.

Is it possible to cap speeds on 2.4Ghz from their backend ?

These speeds are normal and no they dont/cant cap wifi speeds remotely. Even if you get 72 mbps link speed that is theoretical maximum, real speeds will be bit less, so around 45 mbps is normal to me. There must be other interference in your area.
