@crymetyme Just an update, I called up NIB and requested them to increase my line rate from 10mbps to higher according to my current plan. They acceded to my request and within half an hour increased my maximum attainable rate to 13 Mbps (down - 13, up - 847kbps). There was a few times the line was unstable and my network conked a few times probably because they were trying with different combinations to check how stable the line gets. Finally, they settled for 16 Mbps (down) & 877 (up) which probably is the best I could get on my line (SNR's have a dipped a little from 28 to 17 and attenuation increased from 16 to 20) ...all these changes happening within just one and a half hour since I called them. They called me to check if my dsl link was stable while using the internet and touchwood it's been stable ever since. Now it's been almost 2 hrs since the final settings. Looks good until now and hopefully stays like this. Looks like the current crises in BSNL have made them more efficient 😉 Anyway, credit must be given to them where it's due as they deserved it.
How do I contact NIB? I can't find any contact details. My line rate was downgraded a few months back from 12799 kbps to 8192 kbps for no reason. I'm using 899 plan. Even tweeted to them twice, but they didn't respond. I've spoken to their customer care a few times, and almost every time they ask me to do a speed test. It's been really frustrating.

Just lodge a grievance on CPGRAMS-Home
I also faced the same problem. After posting a complaint, the DGM of my circle called me up to inquire. Within a couple of days my line rate was upgraded from 2000kbps to 15999 kbps dl speed. The whole process took about 7 working days.

Also, plans from 599 has a post-fup speed of 2mbps and plans from 1599 has a post-fup speed of 4mbps.

THIS PLAN IS GOOD CONSIDERING THEY GV 1 MBPS AFTER DAILY FUP AND PRIVATE COMPANIES GIVE 64KBPS
I agree with you but considering the fact that you can use 4G services anywhere on the go.
Anyways these plans do not make sense for broadband users as one never uses the same amount of data on a daily basis, also there are some days when you might not use your broadband connection at all so the unused data for that day is technically wasted.

What crap is this, incomprehensible and stupid marketing of broadband daily plans ?

So if I want to download a game of 50GB on xbox and play for the next two weeks, I am out of luck as I only have 15GB per day at higher speed ?

Earlier I used to be on BSNL broadband, with AP circle having better usage limits due to fierce competition. I used to have 675 plan and when I cancelled connection, I used to have 10Mbps 150GB FUP plan. With some offer, this FUP was never applied and it's virtually 10Mbps unlimited.

I went to other private players who offered me 50Mbps up and down for same price of 599+GST. However they are crappy at service, outages last a day, and happen atleast once a month. No UPS electrical backup, so every time a power cut happens, the network disconnects and reconnects. This is due to distribution system to my neighbourhood not have any power backup.

I am looking to come back to BSNL if that bharat fiber comes to my neighbourhood and this plans made sure letting me know that BSNL does not know what they are doing.

Maybe I should look at that AP state owned fiber telecom, but that has serious design issues, and govt surveillance concerns.

Mention your circle & state & I'll see if I can't find the nearest NIB for you to contact.
