Hello,

Is there any way to check/troubleshoot the credentials/details provided by BSNL to the user? (VLAN, GWY, VOICEIP, SUBNETMASK).

I tried making the connection (with OLT) as well and I can't ping the gateway.

Also, the ONT is taking TR069_VOICE from the OLT. Attaching an image as well.

(I also tried adding the DNS as well)

Those details doesn't look right.

Anyway it's simple, once you configure the interface and if you can ping the gateway through that interface (there is an option in the management UI to select the interface and ping), you are good, else it's incorrect. That is provided the link itself is good and internet is working.

Is the ONT registered to the OLT? Is internet working?

In normal practice, you don't give the IP address .3 to a gateway and assign .2 to a device on the network. If the remote side is configured that way it will definitely work, but it's usually not done that way.

ONT is registered and internet is working.

They gave me 10.91.144.12 as IP 9
and 10.99.144.1 as gateway but they changed it to 10.91.144.3 GWY

🤷‍♂️

Try both. The screenshot doesn't show .12 btw. And you wouldn't be able to ping the gateway from your PC, you can only ping from the ONT UI by selecting the right interface.

BSNL gave new details
IP: 10.105.31.xxx
Gateway: 10.105.30.x
VLAN: 1830
DNS: 192.168.149.78
PROXY: 192.168.149.78
SUBNET: 255.255.254.0

^ Does this work? Yeah the VLAN was suspicious too, cause everywhere else I've seen its 1830 but your initial screenshot had 1829 (not that it can't change, but BSNL would be giving out some standard operating procedure right, so things like this may not vary much 😉)

No, It didn't work by the way.

Yes! According to OLT guy the voice IP is paired with VLAN. Okay I get it.

According to BSNL JTO he said that we only make voice accounts (and give IP) and any VLAN and gateway should work

Apparently:: my ONT’s mac for VOICE is not showing up on the OLT. When they are making a connection my ONT is taking up TR069_VOICE protocol as the service mode.

Now: Hopefully, I’ll talk to the AGM or NIB/NOC guy tomorrow.

@varkey if you respond please tell me your ONTs firmware version as well. We’re using the same ONT.
