Excitel routing/backend is still not fully fixed.

I was getting consistent packet loss since last month. I opened a ticket around mid may. At the time I was getting packet loss on even the local excitel servers on SpeedTest app. Since yesterday it's fixed but not fully (no packet loss on SpeedTest app on any local servers). I am still getting packet loss on steam game "War Thunder". There are no Indian servers for it, not a big deal as latency is not that important until it's above 200ms. The thing is I tried VPNs (Windscribe and Proton) to play game and I didn't get any packet loss at all. Some extra latency was added cause of it, which is normal, around 20-30ms.
How much longer do customers have to suffer for this maintenance/repair it's already almost a month now. I would never recommend Excitel to anyone ever. Especially gamers.

Not a fix but you should try PIA or IPVanish. Both have servers in Delhi and because of this only add a few ms to Latency. Also use tcp instead of udp. Udp doesn't seem to get more than 30Mbps on excitel.

VPN is only a temporary solution for me. Excitel would have to fix their network, at some point. Both of those VPNs are not free and Windscribe works fine.
I would have to try that tcp thing though. thanks.

same thing. have been using excitel for over 2 years now and getting packet loss. it was never fixed. when i complained, excitel came up with '' we tested and found no loss in our network'' excuse. so i doubt they will fix this anytime soon.

i also played rocket league today with VPN and had 0% loss. seems like vpn is the only way we can game without getting loss.

at this point i dont know how we can make excitel check their lan switches for loss :/

Looks like someone took the VPN trick a little too seriously. Both of the Indian servers of Proton VPN are under 100% load, yesterday it was about only 30% load for both of them.

@JB700 Using TCP protocol in VPN does more harm for gaming. UDP is much better for gaming, cause lower latency and also there is no stalling of network due to error correction by TCP. Also Excitel seems to be throttling the UDP packets it seems.

Yeah no packet loss. I was using VPN till yesterday. Today I recieved a call from Excitel if I was still having issues cause they have fixed the backend issue. I checked w/o vpn and no more packet loss.

Check this.

getting 0% loss in speedtest results means nothing.
play online games or use voice chat apps like teamspeak or discord for accurate loss measure.

but anyways, i played a couple of matches of rocket league and had 0% loss but the routing is still messed up.

ping to middle east servers is 300 ms. packets are getting routed via europe instead of directly going to middle east.

on select singapore servers i am getting 250 ms ping instead of 70-120ms.
